That is a completely unwarranted statement, and even if it were true, you would still have to account for Dempsey being so much more effective against them.

The reality is that no heavyweight has ever been more effective at overcoming size disparity then Dempsey.

He simply stands alone in this regard.

I'm Not Sure dropsy was any better than louis. Ex-champ carnera, baer, Abe simon. That's about even with morris, fulton, and Willard. Dempsey got his guys out of there quicker so I can see it going to him. Not much in it either way.

Let’s say that they were equal in results .

That still leaves us with the fact that Louis was a 207lb monster, while Dempsey was a 190lb fanatic.

    Dempsey was a monstrosity!

Look at some of the real life photos of the WW2, Depression Era, and WWI citizens, and compare them to the fat slobs masquerading as Hvyweight fighters today.

    Tim-berrrrr !!!

Seriously, who thought of a matchup between Joe Frazier and Georges Carpentier? Frazier would have ruined Carpentier.

Frazier destroys Carpentier obviously but I also don't give Lt Heavyweight versions of Spinks, Moore, Jones, Charles or Kovalev a chance in hell against Frazier either.

He's a terrible match up for most anyone at the best of times let alone guys he outweighs by 30 pounds. Joe was a beast.

Yes people really need to take note of Carpentier's Frenchness when considering his merits as a fighter.

How anyone could think someone from France could beat an American at anything (even French cuisine sucks compared to the US version of it, you know French Fries and all) is just mind boggling. :verysad

Thanks for bringing to light Carpentiers national impediment.

Unprecedented interest in this boxing bout leads to a live gate of thirteen million. The promoter begs Frazier to carry Carpentier for a few rounds. Frazier initially obliges, but in the second round Carpentier stings Frazier with a blow which might have knocked Joe out if it had been immediately repeated another five or eight times. Frazier starts smoking and stops Carpentier in the fourth round.
