Tysons style was nothing like joes. Frazier in my opinion was a much better inside fighter. Mike was lazy on the inside, apart from the fast arm punch combinations he used to use. He also sometimes threw the body and uppercut combo like in the jesse ferguson fight. I feel mike would have stood a great chance against ali as his bobbing and weaving was harder to read than joes, and mike was great at making you pay when you missed, with his lightning reactiond

    Real close to call.

I'd give the edge to Frazier.

A real war between two proven gladiators! Both could give and take punishment and would give it all the heart they had. Tough fight to pick, but I believe Joe's pressure would give him an edge and allow him to outwork Evander and win a close decision.

It's pretty hard to outwork Holyfield.

Same goes for outwillpowering (if I can create that word).

If anyone could pull those things off, Frazier would be one of a select few.

Probably would one of the great heavyweight fights in history with Frazier winning a UD, maybe late stoppage.

Frazier too active, to much pressure for Holyfield.

I think of 2 fights of Holyfields when considering the outcome of this fight, Holyfield vs a very old Foreman, where Holyfield was holding on for his dear life in the final round and the Toney vs Holyfield, where Toney broke down Holyfield with body shots.

Add in Holyfields struggles with an old Holmes and I got to go with Joe.

Been following the sport since the early 1950's and i have to say, Frazier vs Holyfield would make for one of my favorite matchups. Two very tough, hard nosed and talented fighters. Both had great self confidence. That said, my pick would be Holyfield. Reason is endurance. Holyfield may not have hit harder than Joe, but he took a better punch than Joe. Foreman walked right thru Joe but Holyfield clearly beat Foreman. I know it was a different version of Foreman but Joe would not beat any version of Foreman and Holyfield did.

Frazier is probably the harder puncher. He has 72%KOs to Holyfield's 40%. While I agree that the common opponent is Foreman and Frazier doesn't beat either version of Foreman, it's not because he's the inferior fighter but rather a question of styles. Holyfield doesn't have the same punching power or fighting style as Foreman and so he won't be the kind of trouble for Frazier that Foreman was.

Ali was able to potshot Joe at long range. He had the big jab and the righthand lead.

Holyfield didnt have those same tools. He had a good lefthook and he was good at midrange and on the inside. That means he is going to hook with Joe Frazier.

I think that Holyfield would do well early and maybe even put Joe on the deck at some point. He wouldnt keep him there. By the midrounds the exchanges would be brutal.

I believe Joe Frazier would start to get the better of things around the 8th round and edge out a tough decision.

    FOTY no question.
