Jack can absolutely hurt Joe and could possibly finish it in the early rounds.
If he doesn't take out Joe then, he'd likely lose down the stretch as Frazier picks up his workrate and finds his rythmn. I'm not picking a winner, but might make Joe the slight fav on points. It would have been an epic in likelihood.

The fight isn't going to points as it is impossible for a man of Dempesys size to take 12-15 rounds of flush left hooks from Frazier across his head. .

We saw what happened to Bob Fosters head with Frazer hit it clean with a left hook. It almost came clean off his rack. Fosters weighted 188 for that fight , the same as Dempsey.

Iron chinned Chuavalo who weighted 217 couldn't last beyond 4 round and sustained terrible shattering to his facial structure.

Two heavy hooks by Frazier ended the fight after 16 seconds, Chuvalo turning his back on Frazier and groping for his corner. A blood vessel leading to his eyelid had erupted. 'I thought my eyeball had been knocked out.' said Chuvalo."

Dempseys body simply cannot absorb Fraziers assault.. He can't shake off those left hooks or the accumulative damage they will do to his body and head. It cannot be emphasised enough just how much crippling damage Frazier will inflict on Dempsey

It is hilariously delusional to think Dempsey can even compete with Frazier , let alone defeat him. Logic and science does not allow it.

That was the traditional boxing stance of Dempsey's time. . It was a different era of boxing. Different rules and outdated techniques..
The schooling Frazier received did not exist in Dempseys time. Dempsey wouldn't know what was in front of him.

Comparing Dempsey's chin to Foster ot Dempsey's defense to Chuvalo is disrespectful.

It was fighting pose for photos, not fighting stance. Dempsey didn't fight like that.

Dempsey isn't stopping Frazier early. No fighter under 200 lbs is. That shouldn't even be a poll option.

If you aren't supposed to trade hooks with a left hooker, then this will be a train collision. Frazier being the stockier stronger guy will be at an advantage up close if they're trading short sharp punches. He has a better gas tank and better head movement for this matchup (Dempsey's head movement and footwork was better for dealing with tall slow guys).

Dempsey doesn't have the brute strength or uppercut to keep Frazier from constantly pressing into him. Dempsey doesn't have the endurance to survive a non stop assault to his body.

The only advantages Dempsey has are a slight edge in hand speed and that he had a good right hook too. He would need to outland Frazier with 3-4-5+ combinations and attack from all angles to keep Frazier from finding his rhythm and getting more relentless as the fight progressed. Such a game plan isn't the most viable given that Frazier has better stamina. Dempsey would need to stop him within 8 or he's getting sunk like a battle ship.

I'm leaning toward Frazier to win by stoppage within 10 around 60-65% of the time. Both men would be so lumped up and damaged that they'd need half a year to recover.

I think you're knocking Dempsey in order to continue your hate campaign against Jess Willard

When you think about it. There hasn't been a HW Champ weighing in the 180s since Patterson. And Patterson lost his title being blown out in a round twice. 20lbs of muscle mass are a huge advantage for Frazier, with all else being relatively equal.

And now it's been 22 years since we had a champion weigh below 240lbs!!! Weight classes for a reason

Yes ^ . Dempsey has as much chance against Frazier as Patterson did against Liston. .

Dempsesy wasn't equal to Frazier when it came to defence and throwing a left hook.

Great fight, and Joe might get knocked down early. But Joe was relentlessness personified. Dempsey is stopped in 6 at the most.
