Who would you take in this slugfest?

I think that Frazier's constant attack, relentless pressure, and his tendency to get better as rounds went by would give him a stylistic advantage over Jeffries, who liked to wear his opponents down before finishing them off. Both had good chins, although Jeffries' might be a little better considering the punishment he took from Fitzsimmons. I'd say they're about equal in power, with the left hook being the best punch for both.

I'd probably say Frazier by decision, possibly late round stoppage in a very brutal fight.

A massacre !!!! The pre-historic boiler maker would be a punch bag for the Frazier who beat Ali.

Frazier's chin can't compare to Jeffries imo,I would expect him to be quicker and for them to be about on par for power.
Two grinders ,Jeffries more durable, Frazier with better technique. Perhaps a toss up?

Frazier pretty easily, Jeffries technique was just terrible and he'd be a punchbag here.

I sometimes wonder how Jeffries would fare against guys who came in low -- he seemed to emphasize body punching, but I wonder how accesible Fraziers body would be. Jeffries might crouch and try to guard his own body, too. I'm pretty sure Frazier would, in that case, make Jeffries face look like a canine chew-toy. Now, Jeffries showed he could carry one with a face like a canine chew-toy ..... vs. Fitzsimmons (II). The question is, could Jeffries get to Frazier

I think Jeffries would be able to force Frazier backwards, and that might disrupt Frazier's game plan. Much would depend on which Jeffries turns up. The reactive version that fought Sharkey would get out worked, but the post Ruhlin version might get the job done.

    That is a reasonable assumption.

Frazier was nearly knocked out by Bonevena. I think Nat Fleshier who saw Bonevena mentioned he was a bit like Jeffries, except Jeffries hit harder, and moves quicker.

Frazier might have some moments, but I see him getting knocked out in the mid rounds

Not live, but on film for sure. And Nat knew plenty who did see Jeffries live.

I pick Jeffries. Frazier didn't always get better as the fight progressed. Many people think that Bonavena won the last five rounds of their second fight. Jeffries by KO.

Nat claimed he did but I've seen this claim argued against before. He would have been 23 in 1910 when Jeffries fought Johnson, he claimed the first bout he saw was McGovern vs Palmer when he was 12 years of age.
