    I thought I voted Bowe. Old age:patsch.

Anyway Joe is my favorite fighter of all time. I think he matches up well with many of the great heavys but not in this case. On the other hand I don`t think every big puncher can do what Foreman did as some people tend to think. Joe was tough as nails.

After Manila Eddie Futch had been quoted as saying Ali was "too big" for Joe. A comment which Frazier took issue with. Bowe wasn`t Ali {who was?} but he did present his own set of problems.

I assume were talking about Bowe in top form. On his way up. He was one helluva fighter. He basically ate his way out of the Hall of Fame. Ofcourse Eddie left him when he saw Bowe was no longer dedicated.

    I think Frazier beats Bowe.

Frazier would bring the same kind of fight Holy did, but with much more firepower.

On a seperate note. Tyson knocks Bowe out :D

See, it's a weird match-up. Folks are pretty certain of what they believe would happen, generally not too many sitting on the fence - but I'm seeing very little analysis. :nono

I am pleasantly surprised to see Frazier narrowly leading the poll. Other forums usually have it a near landslide for Bowe.

Bowe was fine and so was Joe. Do you have a problem with Joe?

It depends. You underestimate Foreman. He hit much harder than Bowe. Ask Holyfield. Frazier might be able to wear Bowe down. It would be tough. No doubt that Bowe has the size advantage. So did Mathis.

Joe had a lot of stamina. If he didn't get hurt, he ain't stoppin'. I do agree that Bowe would be tough for Joe or anyone for that matter.

Frazier couldn't knock out Joe Bugner (size-wise similar to Bowe), yet he's gonna KO Bowe? Sometimes I think people are living in parallel universe or something...

Well he did have Bugner down and should have finished him but he let up and allowed Joe Bugner to slowly melt to the canvas. That Frazier that wasn`t quite the same fighter as he had been.

On the other hand I can`t see Frazier having an answer for Riddick Bowe`s uppercut on the inside. Bowe was technically sound at close range and he put punches together in combinations.

If the fight went deep into middle/late rounds Frazier has a good chance of grinding Bowe down. I just don`t think he gets it there. Bowe is bigger/quicker hands and can fight at any range effectively. He was a helluva fighter for a short period of time.

    Voted Bowe.

He has more tools at his disposal and can fight on the inside or the outside. The Bowe from Holyfield I could also go 12 hard rounds and was in very good condition and highly motivated.

Usually with the big guy/little guy matchup things get interesting when the smaller guy gets in close, but Bowe is that one big man who can match or exceed Joe on the inside. That uppercut sure had some steam on it, and if I recall, it was the uppercut more than anything which proved Frazier's undoing against Foreman.

Also one other thing...Frazier had virtually no survival skills at all. He didn't know how to tie his man up when hurt and wasn't as savvy as someone like Evander at catching a breather when he needed to.

I wouldn't call my pick ironclad at all though, I mean it's Frazier, right? Only George ever got by him easily. It'll likely be a tough, hard fight with both guys taking a lot of punishment, but Bowe just has more versatility and options on his side and that's why I voted for him.

As was mentioned before, Frazier had Bugner out but let him go. Bugner was tough to ko and Joe had him. If Joe wasn't being so nice, it would have been Frazier by ko.

At long range Bowe scores better, Frazier would get his hook in but inside Bowe is a terrific infighter, especially for his size ,and that would be the difference, he may not hit like Foreman, but he would not need to push Joe out to optimum range because he could tag him with combos inside, he was also very big.Bowe wins a decision, or stops Frazier late.
