Rocky is the stronger man with harder punch in both hands, he also use uppercut and a right hand too which is bad for Joe plus he has better stamina so my pick is still Rocky over 12 rounds.
That would be one of the greatest matches of all time. With how much both Joe and Rocky came forward, the tag for the fight would've had to be something like "No Turning Back". I'll take Frazier. I just feel that he's too big, fast, and dangerous for Marciano to fight him off. And in close matches like this, I usually say that I wouldn't place any bets down, but if I didn't here, I'd have to be smokin'. Smokin' Joe Frazier takes this by UD.
I don't see it. Even if battered, bruised, bleeding and thrown to the curb, these two will last. Frazier and Marciano had some of the greatest hearts ever seen in boxing.
The human body can only take so much punishment. Frazier had all the heart in the world, but he was stopped in 2 rounds and 5 rounds vs George Foreman. He was stopped vs Ali in Thrilla in Manilla.
Marciano's no Foreman but he's better than Bonavena, and his punching power is close to Foreman's but Marciano isn't as big and as strong as Foreman. Still I think Rocky can stop Frazier by TKO or late KO like Walcott.
I don't believe that the Bonavena double flooring is too relevant here, as that was against a very green Frazier, and we saw that the same didn't happen in their rematch, so we can rule this out of consideration. We also can't reasonably compare Marciano's punches to Foreman's, as we have no spoken statements on anybody who fought both of them, or trained both of them, or otherwise.
But Frazier was still unable to do anything to Bonavena and Bonavena wasn't as strong and druable as Rocky.
I dunno about that one, Bonavena was only ever sent down by Ellis and Ali, and at the same time was able to take punches from Patterson, Frazier, and Lyle without going down. Ringo was only dropped by guys who could pour it on, whereas Marciano was dropped by smaller men's singular counterpunches.
Bonavena didn't face Liston or Foreman so we could know how durable he is. Ringo was dropped by fighters who can't punch like Patterson and Ali, but he wasn't dropped by someone who can't punch like Walcott could. And Lyle was outpunched by Quarry, don't forgett that.
Oscar wasn't floored by Patterson, and he could punch like hell. We know that guys like Ellis and Ali could punch hard, and that combined with Ringo's defense, he was more in danger when against those who could pour it on, just as Rocky was dropped against counterpunchers. And Lyle was counterpunched against Quarry because he had inferior skill, he still wasn't dropped, and he still made it to the final bell. I don't see the connection here.
