Haven't read the thread, have you? Can you tell me why I should answer your questions when you flat out refuse to answer mine?
If you make a bold claim on a forum regarding a fighter it's customary for you to defend such claims. I don't think it's a coincidence that Lyle and Liston were never the #1 contender for Frazier's title, no.
Frazier had "no choice but to fight Foreman"? Why? What responsibility do you feel Frazier has to fight specific fighters when he is anything other than the champion? And again, although we seem to be discussing this regardless of your refusing to name names, what puncher sshould he have fought as a contender?
Povetking seems like a Mendoza alias. Hammering the same arguments over and over to make them more truthful. Eerily similar pattern, it has to be him. I guess it could be someone else, but if it were I think he would've denied it by now.
How ridiculous. By this logic every fighter who has ever been in a top 10 that didn't fight every other fighter in that top ten is guilty of ducking. Why do you think you can continue to ask questions without answering any? Are you speaking rhetorically? Why did Frazier "have to" fight the unheralded Foreman? Why punchers did he duck?
Frazier beat the number one heavyweight of all time... on the other hand Wladimir dominated Ruslan Chagaev!!!
Ron Lye did not step up to title distance until 1975. He lost. Frazier had three fights left. An easy one against Ellis, then the greatest HW of all time, then one of the greatest HW punchers of all time. You are basically accusing Frazier of ducking a fighter because he didn't match him at the beggining of 1975 in a year where he matched two of the greatest heavyweights in history AND when the fighter you are accusing him of ducking had just lost. That won't hold, i'm afraid. Leotis Martin retired in 1969. Frazier ifted the world HW title early in '68. The window during which he could have been responsible to matching Martin - even if Martin wanted such a fight, which is not proven - is very, very short unless Martin achieved #1 contender, which he did not. If you call either of these ducks, you are applying insanely high standards. Thank you. Now you've overcome your reluctance to name names we can talk about whatever you like. He was busy fighting some of the best boxers in the world or pissing about with two soft title defences. Neither of the punchers you have mentioned were ever his #1 contender or a direct obsticale to his coming to the title. A leech? How extraordinary. Wlad doesn't have one single win worth speaking about i'm afraid. Why do you say that Frazier had "no choice" but to face Foreman?
In fairness, this guy has picked the losing side of the argument even if he's talking to Forrest Gump.
