This is a good thread. Janitor asked the key question: how much time between them? Frazier was a hammer and tongs fighter and he was going to get hit by these big dudes as well. The wear and tear would add up. Even great fighters get tagged by "lucky" punches and getting tagged clean by any of this lineup would suck. 2 fights a year, and Joe probably beats all of them. 3 a year and I think we're going to see the last few guys take a depleted Frazier to the wire.

Only Max Baer from that list would cause him real problems, I still think he'd beat him though, and the rest with relative ease

Why do Carnera boosters always bring up Martin he was a fluke and has disappeared.
He won an alphabet title on an injury and is no more representative of todays heavyweight division than Ray Impelletiere was in the 30's

You think Impelletiere and Martin are on the same level?
    I don't think I'd disagree.

The "Imp" was outboxing Carnera until he gassed and he was a novice!

Based on Campolo beating Godoy and Harris getting the better of Larry Gains.

Mathis never beat anybody as good as Arturo Godoy or Larry Gains

What do you make of the new WBA king Manuel Charr? Could he beat Campolo?

I remember reading an article where Max Baer commented on a potential tournament to decide the Heavyweight Champion, and he insisted that it wouldn't be a fair tournament if Impelletiere wasn't included. He seems to have been taken seriously, at some point in the timeline.

There’s no shame in the worlds best heavyweight being outboxed in the beginning of a fight that he won.

Pete Radmacher was doing okay against Floyd Patterson... he even knocked the champ down in round two. His first ever pro fight. He was winning. Patterson, like Carnera did against the mighty imp, still took care of business and later won emphatically.

Novices have won world titles. Leon Spinks and Michael Bentt both won titles with hardly much pro experience at all.

I agree. Charr would never be champion in carneras day would he?

Beating a 40 years old fringe contender like Ustinov doesn't mean anything to me.

Quite rightly it shouldnt ..but this is the modern, plus-size, Superheavyweight division. If the barrel wasn’t already empty you could scrape it.

These 240lb guys today are at best an equal match for the giants who could not win titles in the 1930s. Very likely most would lose to every guy who beat Carnera.

The list of ATG 240 pound guys is very very short.

Who are they? The best 240 pounders? There isn’t many from history worth more than a cheese sandwich.

Lennox Lewis won just 16 of 44 fights weighing 240lb or over. He drew at that size to a guy 30lb lighter for one of the 16 times Lennox was that heavy. And he’s the best one!

The second best 240 pounder is Bowe. Riddick was only 240lb or above for 10 of his 40 fights. Only Seven of those fights were wins in the true sense of the word.

Who do we have after that Wlad? He was knocked out twice to guys almost 20lb lighter.

If we limit 240lb ATG’s to guys who never weighed less than 240lb we are left with just Primo Carnera as the GOAT.
