Obviously i go with smokin joe here but it would be a Great fight. Frazier 70-71 (foster,Ellis ,Ali) vs spoon 1983(Holmes) .
    Opinions?

Over 15? Frazier clear points win or late TKO, maybe the 12th or later.

I'll take Frazier's head movement and left hook over Spoon's atomic over hand right and tight defense. I feel Frazier's head movement was good enough to overwhelm and frustrate the offense of 99% of the heavyweights there's ever been, and Spoon would be one of them. I can see Frazier getting under Tim's punches, chopping Witherspoon down to the body using his superior work rate.

The Frazier of the Ali fight in 71 v the best Spoon I've ever seen and I would go with Frazier very late stoppage. I don't think Tim can take the relentlessness as much as Ali can. That night I have him beating Foreman too..Not exaggerating my opinion, he was one pure wrecking perpetual monster that night. His head movement was on point to the point Ali was having trouble landing at stages and he was obviously faster than Tim. Tim doesn't see the final bell peak for peak !

It's a hard ask, but boxing really does come down to styles and for Joe it simply can't get any worse than a big, come forward power punching monster who swings from the angles Foreman did.

I believe Cus D'Amato, who used to watch a lot of boxing films with Tyson, once told him that that he believed no come forward fighter in history would defeat George Foreman, including the likes of Rocky Marciano. That was just his personal opinion, but some people say it may have influenced Mike Tyson's decision in not getting caught up in the hoopla and fighting even an older Foreman in the late 80/90's.

Frazier wins. I like Tim, but Frazier was special on that night when he beat Ali. Unbelievable pressure, stamina and workrate.

No prob's, i'm on my own I know lol. Hes my no1 heavy ever, I just think he was past peak in 73, or the fire wasn't as fierce. When I say no1 I don't mean h2h, I have Tyson believe it or not coming out and stopping Joe early doors down to styles. Fastest starter ever at heavy v a fighter that needed 2/3 rounds to start smoking !

I agree with that. He had Ali's number that night and his style was always going to give Ali hell. Throw in a great corner and game plan...

That cross armed defense is open to left hooks. And Joe dug them to the body and his left hook upstairs sizzled. This looks like the Jimmy Ellis #1 fight to me w/ Joe hurting him to the breadbasket and coming upstairs. And tim not being anywhere near elusive enough once Frazier starts smoking.
