UncleTermite you can make a respectable argument in your direction.
Mendoza has a reasonable middle pisition, though i would favor Frazier.

A few things though: as per your arguments-I have watched the highlight reels of both. I think Frazier is faster, though Morrison hits harder.

IAnd Frazier took Foreman's punches for 5 rounds in their 2nd fight, when even MORE past prime.

Also lots of folks were former LHWs, Ali was in his whole amateur & Olympic career. Bonavena fought Frazier as a bulky natural HW for his time & punched hard. And Frazier was not in his prime yet.

But MUCH more importantly: you AVOIDED the spoecifics of my argument that supported my main THEME, that was impossible tp miss: unmistakeable evidence of your bias towards the newer fighters.

i did not even MENTION Frazier's advantage in endurance, & am fine if you have a different opinion. I think Morrison would be more vulnerable to Frazier than Foreman, but reasonable minds can disagree.

BUT you completely skipped, "spiritually bipassed', the Heart of my argument.

Again, it is absurd to list each fighter's strengths & credit Tommy with 3X more of them.

    And LEAVE out Frazier's:
    Heart.
    Bob & weave defense.
    Superior work rate

And at least credit Frazier's hand speed as a strength, regardless of who you feel is faster.
Frazier beat many guys even past his prime largely due to ogetting off first, including \with infighting, & at his best landed well coming in too.

You are also flat out wrong that heavier equals harder punches.
There is a TENDENCY for this to be true, with diminishing or no returns at HW sizes.

And an ordinary man, or even one who started training hard for years, would rarely hit as hard as a real boxer at the same weight.
There is a strong natural/genetic aspect to it.

Once more, with Feeling: consider WHY you left out many of Frazier's irrefutable major strengths.
Please do not regress to arguing with me that Morrison could win.
He could, we differ if that is the most LIKELY scenario...

But your thought process is my challenge to you, not how you weigh the evidence.

    Give me Joe here, clearly.

People may be under the false impression I don't like Frazier given that I've been picking against him lately, but I call it like I see it- while it'd be an entertaining war, I see Frazier wearing Morrison down by about the 7th once he gets going.

What's happening on here? Frazier and Foreman are starting to be seen as inept bums given the nature of some of these posts. Where does that leave Ali, whose reputation is built upon these two men?

Frazier like Marciano is IMHO a fighter that captured all that is great about the human fighting spirit. A man who stood against the odds.

You know reading this thread and thinking about the Morrison who fought Mercer rounds 1-4. Frazier was no where as big, durable or as strong as Ray though he has his strengths in stamina, heart, quick handed and Frazier had good right hand power and I believe knocked out fighters with it. Frazier known for the hook but was more of a two handed fighter than given credit for see the prime Frazier.

Frazier does not survive the shellacking Morrison put on Mercer but does have the power and stamina to beat Morrison into submission once he gets out of those 4-5 rounds.

Interesting fight what we are talking about was a 6'2" 225-230 lb modern skilled powerhouse with a shaky chin and suffered from stamina and a small heavyweight ATG with all the characteristics of Marciano in size, stamina and willpower.

The real question is could Frazier survive his speed, power and ability to take him into deep water?? I think it fair to say Morrison hit harder than Bonavena.

The fight proposition itself is interesting.

Personally I think it ends either early for Morrison or mid to late for Frazier.

Really the only reasonable breakdown above...^^^^^^Which basically I said other than mendozas...however I throw out the All time great nonsense and see each fighters capablility and in this match Frazier is a underdog.no Ali fight can change that when you look at the REAL life break down of each which I posted.frazier in his prime was neve hit ,nor fought a super heavyweight puncher,Morrison has losses but stood up to a huge foreman and Ruddock ,again proof Frazier will not hurt a focused Morrsion which was clearly the thread beginning...71 Frazier vs 95 Morrison.

Is this a trick question or something ??? seriously comparing Morrison to the far greater Frazier ???? hmmmmmmm Frazier is sent to jail for murder, Morrison is a nobody in comparison and a lamb ready for the slaughter even when Joe is past his prime he kills da bum.

oh deary me,i didn't say Morrison was better than Tyson however his hook was and that's all he would need against Frazier is one clean blow.Small holyfield was BIGGER than Frazier and MUCH more skilled. Its more like I bury posters like you and leave the shovel!:smooch

Why would you mention Fraziers endurance that's been covered?Statistics prove you wrong on weight and importance that's why weight classes were created,in the HW division its really the same most bigger guys hit harder, how many k.os does Tyson have against 225 plus pounders?

Heart doesn't win fights.Skill and ones attributes do....Morrison:Faster/stronger/more well rounded! Frzier never took punches from a 260 foreman or foreman like opponent,Morrison did,im certainly sure with even a fluke loss to Bentt that he hit harder than Bonevena just check the stats. Why who hits harder is even relevant here when its obviously Morrison also comes to question!

He did fight a super heavyweight puncher more than once, Foreman who is perhaps the biggest puncher of all time, he destroyed Joe twice so there goes your claim there, Morrison I don't actually think is a bum, only when compared to Joe he looks like one, Morrison beat a very old Foreman who had none of his old speed. If Morrison fought the Foreman who walks over Norton's near dead body Morrison gets knocked cold in less than a minute into the first round. get another job mate, you just ain't an authority in this sport. :deal
