So who have you got in this one?

Vitali is widely regarded as the best HW head to head along with Lennox Lewis, since Mike Tyson.

Joe Frazier was a small HW by today’s standards, but was in the top 5 during the pre designer steroid golden era.

Vitali. I think he has the size, smarts, and physical talent to punish Frazier. I'd be rooting for Smoking Joe but I think he'd have a hard time closing distance and landing those wide hooks on Vitali without taking too much punishment.

I hate to say it cos I love Joe, but I don't see him winning this. I don't see Joe getting stopped but he'll lose by a wide margin.

Vitali was nothing like foreman.even if he was taller he was not as strong and did not hit that hard and their styles was very different, foreman had a much better upper this blow(and pushing him back) was the key to stop the inside game of joe.

I am not saying anything bad against vitali (i respect him because he was a gentleman) .but what are you insinuating when you say the superior knockouter? Foreman did hit harder than vitali with both hands and was physically stronger and it is a fact.i give you that was more athletic and "agile" but it was because he was naturally a lanky guy, with lighter bones despite his weight (his weight was more because his height and musculature, he trained weights but there is no doubt about foreman was naturally stronger and bulk naturally for the brute force while vitali was an Athletic guy.
Returning to the initial topic ,what i am saying is that stylistically foreman was harder for joe .he could work to the body against vitali

For my money Foreman was a harder hitter than Vitali whom I wouldn't even put in the top ten punchers at the weight.

Vitali won´t go anywhere when Frazier hits him. Vitali has a very high KO-ratio, but not against the best opposition. But good enough for me to hurt Frazier before the distance. Vitali TKO or UD12.

I don't necessarily agree with the result but i think that
This is much more reasonable than the "one sided "nonsense that was said before

sort of like a Joe Frazier style at welterweight fighting at middleweight supermiddleweight guy with Vitali's style. Who would win?

Joe Frazier would put constant pressure on that big stiff, and Vitali ain't knocking out Joe Frazier, HE NEVER BEAT ANYBODY ! long about round 13 with Vitali ahead on points he wilts like old lettuce and the ref rescues Vitali in a TKO

I am gonna have to ask for a source on this.
Vitali averaged "about 100 hits per round"?!?

    Vitali goes down late.

You'd need to use the prime vitali whose face worst ever lennox destroyed - the older one wouldnt dare.

Frazier was great vs boxers who didn't punch hard.

Joe's best punch, ( and only good punch ) was the left hook, but at 5'11" tall and with a 73 reach punching way up there, he would have an extremely hard time landing it vs an anything but stationary Vitali.

Vitali via TKO/KO in rounds 6-9.

I'll go for Frazier on points or Vitali by KO.

    Very very difficult call this.

I guess i'll go for Vitati over 15 rounds. Very very rare that I pick a guy over 15 he never fought over 15 but there it is. And Frazier to stumble home over 12 with the decision.

How's that for a cop out?
