Wlad would break the record for holding in the fight

He already broke the clinch count record against Povetkin. Frazier very likely forces a disqualification before he scores a stoppage.

The common denominator is Wlad's ridiculous distance control and jab that simply does not allow a little fighter to get inside to throw down. Notice how Haye was reduced to either trying to leap in with wild swings or trying the ol bumrush while throwing combos that got him exactly nowhere. Chagaev who was maybe tougher than Haye but less elusive and explosive likewise had God's own mission to try get close. Frazier is smaller than all these guys. His problems are magnified.

Here's a third example of what Wlad looks like when he stops to actually fight a small slugger:

Adjust of course for the extra 2 inches in height and 20lb in weight Mercer has over Frazier.

Frazier fought taller guys his whole career. Wlad is couple inches taller than them but also a little less coordinated than guys Joe Frazier faced. Foster (6-4) not a true heavy though, Bugner (6-4) Mathis (6-3) Ali (6-3) Foreman (6-3) Joe even got inside on him. That's why George was pushing quite a bit. Frazier got inside on everyone. It's a fallacy to believe he won't get inside in this one.
Wlad is strong with a good one-two but his flaws cost him once again. The reality is he needs an early knockout or his parachute doesn't land.
Joe Frazier chops him down like an Oak Tree....TKO 7th

Wlad is leagues better than Foster (at heavy), Bugner, Mathis and even a depleted Ali. And he's better than any version of Foreman, to be honest. Truly, Wlad was a revelation, finally combining the athleticism and size, with elite skill, long speculated to be possible in the division. Add to that his multi-faceted offensive arsenal, deadly with hook, cross and even jab, and an underrated chin, and you've got something close to insurmountable.... WHEN ALL THE PARTS ARE WORKING.

Now, if you can invite Waldo to tee off for too long, keep him thinking that he has you going and just one more flurry will do the trick, then you can haul his oversized @ss into deep waters and flip the script. Then the wheels fall off. Then the doubt creeps in as he breathes heavier and heavier. But somehow, I just don't think Frazier is the guy to do that and that Wlad's incredible physical attributes will tell.

He has size and he is strong...if he had so much athletism then he wouldn't of had to hold for dear life after every exchange....to that extreme your seeing things that just are not there. By the way that diminished Ali was still the GOAT. Foreman would most likely have made shorter work of Wlad than Joe

He wasn't truly KOd by Purity, he ran out of steam....some kind of stamina issue.

    Same with Brewster.

Only Sanders (who definitely hit harder than Joe) put him on ***** Street, and even then, did not KO him. He was on his feet when the fight was stopped.

I rank Joe higher in terms of greatness, but Wlad takes this nine times out of ten, and mostly by stoppage.

that is how I see it also.I do not believe Waldo could hold off Frazier especially with his stamina.

I think you can get a good gauge on how this match-up would play out by looking at the Purrity , Peter , Brewster and Povetkin fights.

Despite the fan-fiction , guys with aggression and pressure often caused Wlad to resort to excessive holding rather than boxing. This means lack of punches coming at Frazier would allow him to plough his left hook into Wlads head and body every time he got in close.
Foreman used his famous uppercut to stop Joe in his tracks , without it he would have been in trouble. Wlad has no such punch , which means he's left with a 1-2 , but those punches would be missing Joe's head by multi-inches as Joe moved in using the hard to hit bob n weave style defense.
I feel this fight already played out when Joe fought Bugner and when Wlad fought Prime Brewster :icon_popcorn:

Except of course that Brewster was 3 inches taller and 25lb heavier than Frazier.
