I'm just telling you, when people say different, you flip out.

Liston really isn't my favorite boxer, but I do like him. My favorite is probably Ali then Hagler.

I agree that they did have a better career. But I'm positive that people might have a different OPINION on their careers.

Rocky is the clear cut number three in my opinion. Ali, Louis, then Marciano.

I usually have Frazier anywhere from 8-10.

A higher spot can be argued however. His win against Ali is the biggest win in the history of the sport but he also has the most onesided and comical loss of any ATG heavyweight champ against Foreman. But at the same time, Foreman was quite the specimen himself and much of how you rate Frazier depends on how much you weigh those losses so one can expect to see him vary a lot list to list.

Norton fought far superior fighters to the ones Bowe fought and its not that Bowe wasnt given the chance, he was and he ran away!

Outside of the top ten. Frazier had an un-impressive title reign, and outside of Ali did not have a lot of depth to his resume. Sure he beat Ali once in 3 fights, but so did Norton, and so would many other all time greats, especially the post exile Ali.

In a head to head match up sense Frazier is not in my top ten either. Frazier did not have single shot KO power vs. real heavies, had a suspect chin vs punchers, was on the small side, and had a rather limited arsenal.

There is some substance to this ,though it is somewhat overstated imo.

i wonder how many swarmers would last 2 rounds with foreman. Answer? None of them. No marciano, no tyson and no, not even dempsey who's my fav out of the 4. People are too harsh on frazier for the foreman losses whereas no swarmer would have lasted 5 rounds with foreman

Truth is, Frazier was never the same fighter after the Ali fight in 1971. That fight took a lot out of him.
He was carried from his hotel room that night on a stretcher, the rumour went around that Joe Frazier has died. He was in some sort of coma or state of acute exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration. Whatever it was, he was in a serious condition, and stayed in hospital a week or two.
Really he should have retired then.

The Frazier who fought Foreman was a greatly diminished fighter, heavy and slower and battle-damaged. And Foreman knocked him down a notch further too.

Well, yes and no. Yes, Norton faced one superior opponents. He had the style to trouble Ali and did. I give him credit for that but not as much as most others. I credit his Eddie Futch more with it actually. But the early blowouts against Foreman and Shavers hurt him. Bowe never happened such things. And no, I don“t factor things in that perhaps might have happened.
