Of course Everyone is bum in modern era compared to who Ali fought.it would be ridiculous to compare better trained 240 plus guys to that of 200 pounders of prime Ali's era and just look at the way he dances around the ring .who's going to go against that? Anyone who does needs a straight jacket as far as I'm concerned.:tonguecrazy:

    No mention of Tunney?
When i made a Tunney v Frazier thread a while back there was a lot of support for Gene, not from myself, tbh i was quite shocked the amount of backing he received.

I don't believe pre exile Ali can beat him. I think Norton was Ali's real nemesis and Joe prime could pull away by 2/3 rounds with Ali in a hard fight. Relentless pressure and a punch that Ali couldn't defend against in the left hook will see joe grind out a points win both at their best for me

I think that version of Ali could pull it off. That’s by no means a certainty though.

I cant think of anybody. I give Holmes the best chance but no guarantee at all. Frazier was an underrated force of nature.

    This.

Though it could be that those guys and the numerous other fighters who I think had a good chance of beating Frazier more likely would have stopped him instead.

Ibeabuchi will always be an unproven commodity in my book. I just cant rate him with the likes of Ali and Frazier

    ALi, Holmes, Bowe

and Foreman was never fearful of Frazier. some people from ESB fall for false modesty

You can see from Frazier's previous fight - post fight interview with Frazier and following Forman's interview telling the interviewer "I would beat Frazier tomorrow"

Ibeabuchi bombs Joe "drawn into punches like moth into light" Frazier out.

Worth a mention might be Godzilla Douglas, Tony Tucker, early 90s Ray Mercer, Evander Holyfield, Riddick Bowe, Larry Holmes, Vitali and Wlad. Tyson and Lewis KO him. Maybe Bowe and Wlad too.

Best chances therefore (next to 60s Ali): Bowe, Holyfield, Holmes and Vitali.
