Do you favor these 7 over George Foreman or not? You made a very simple rigid statement.

Many guys are bigger than Foreman today-but of built up muscle, & often PEDs.
Few of them are as strong or stronger than him.
Among those who are, it is still hard for them to hit as hard as he did.
Let alone have his aggression & some subtle ring skills & a great jab-when he was on.

Many good explanations for Frazier's decline.

But I will give another: Frazier besides compromised health via the high blood pressure & being legally blind by then...

    Was an alcoholic.

Frazier got lazy after the FOTC and wasn't dedicated enough anymore.

Frazier coming in overweight against Terry Daniels.

At 215½ pounds he was 10½ pounds heavier than he was last March when he defeated Muhammad Ali and at least seven pounds over the weight he personally assigned himself for this inconsequential bout.

Like many men who have been fat boys, Frazier is a weight watcher and he was clearly disturbed by the extra pounds, blaming them, in fact, on the Louisiana State Athletic Commission scales. He was 213 on the hotel bathroom scales that very morning, he said, and he suspected that even these were inaccurate. It all seemed a plot to embarrass him.

"They had them on the ring mat," he said, "and you can't get scales to balance on a soft mat. Either that or I drank a lot of water."

But in his new philosophical humor, Frazier was prepared to accept, albeit reluctantly, the evidence of unwanted poundage. "I've been grinding away in other fights to get down to 203, 204. Now I've decided to be more comfortable.

Frazier was already showing signs of letting his conditioning slip even before THE FOTC.

In his fight against Bob Foster he also came overweight. He came in at 209 pounds despite planning to come in at his regular 204-205 lbs

During Frazier's standard one-hour workout of punching the heavy bag, the speed bag, three rounds of boxing and such conditioning work as having a 20-pound medicine ball bounced off his belly, he demonstrated that his is indeed a most happy kind of training camp. He worked to the sound of phonograph music—a mix of rock and soul, a caterwauling that was loud if not clear. His partners danced and sang throughout the workout. Everybody had a good time, even those who had to get into the ring with the champ.

"Right now," he said between rounds, "I got to get in close and pound them. I got to get my weight down. Then I'll box. I want to come in at 204 or 205.

Joe Frazier again showed up overweight against Foreman and foolishly underestimated Foreman.

Foreman weighed 217½, Frazier 214, almost nine pounds over what he weighed for the Ali fight.
Had he watched Foreman fight or studied films of him? Wasn't that important? Frazier shook his head almost contemptuously. "I'm concerned about preparing myself," he said. "What help is it to scout another man? Even sparring partners don't work like your opponent in the fight. So I work on my strengths. Let the other guy do the best he can."

Frazier was delusional about it not being useful to watch Foreman fight or study films-a thin rationalization for his laziness. And sparring partners usually can do a good facsimile of their opponent in a fight.

As for the Foster fight, Frazier DID weigh his ideal/goal of 204/205.
They say at the start of the fight how the scales were off by 4-5 lbs.It was done to make Foster, look heavier. He had mucho trouble gaining weight, & in reality was 184-185 for that fight, though 6' 3".

You can see Frazier is in excellent shape-then.

The worst thing that can happen to a great fighter, is for them to reach their psychological Everest.

Tyson Fury coined the term in a recent interview, and he hit the spot exactly.

Sometimes their Everest is the tile, and sometimes it is the top fighter of their generation.

After Frazier defeated Ali, he gained significant weight, went on tour with his band, and started taking defenses against nonentities.

He never got particularly close to his best fighting weight, after he beat Ali.

In hindsight, everybody should have seen it coming!

I'm pretty confident a good number of these guys are stronger than Foreman. Some of these guys like Joyce are just huge dudes and have considerably more muscle mass.

As for power how do we know Foremans power would have the same impact on today's heavies that it had on the much smaller men of his own day. Today's cruiserweights are roughly the size of the guys he was fighting.
