That's what I mean, like Marciano threw plenty of overhand rights but the one he put Walcott down with in 13 easily has the most aura or whatever

 

Generally yes that is so, but when talking about someone's destructive power infamy can work - in the sense of "well known for striking fear into hearts". Synonymous with awesome or terrible (ironically, as they're now colloquially antonyms) in their antiquated meanings.

So it still preserves the negative connotation, but at the same can be said in admiration.

 

Anyone would know his left hook is real fast, hits pretty hard, is real accurate, and he can double and triple it up. Anybody would know Frazier's fight plan is walk forward bobbing and weaving, throw left hooks to the everything, throw some body shots with his right here and there. Not like you need to even watch film to know what he's going to do. The average drunkass fan could tell you exactly what he's going to do.

 

Which makes it all the more cringe that Muhammad just blithely and arrogantly assumed he could stand & hook with him with impunity.

 

Although the title says left hooks there are actually quite a few rights displayed
