Frazier beats the breaks off Toney imagine Toney trying to sit on the ropes vs an ATG swarmer in Frazier with an unlimited gas tank getting pounded to the body and getting hit with left hooks.

Toney had the defence to roll with right hands but Frazier's left hook would find holes in Toney's defence and yes he would stop him in a 15 round bout.

Frazier will win. Too relentness down the stretch. Toney will make it too the finishing line though.

Frazier beats down Toney. Too big and relentless for him.

Also interesting to note that James Toney played Joe Frazier in the Ali movie starring Will Smith.

Toney is a great champion, an ATG, and one of the best counterpunchers to ever enter the ring. But I think the Toney we saw in the heavyweight division was weaker than the one we saw in the lower divisions. He certainly showed some flashes of class (for example against Peter), but those were the final years of his career and he was weighed down by the extra weight, so I don't see him winning against any of the best heavyweights of all time in their prime, including Smokin' Joe. Frazier on points.

Toney nearly lost to Jirov, Frazier breaks him.

Actually Toney won a comfortable UD against Jirov.

Scorecards were way off, Toney was struggling a lot with Jirov's pressure and work-rate.

Toney beat Jirov up. It was not an easy fight for him but points wise he was the clear winner. Joe would also eat a lot of clean shorts from Toney. He would just be too relentness for Toney down the stretch. But remember Toney was past his prime at heavyweight and neither was he a true heavyweight.

And he also got beat up himself.
I think the KD in 12th really solidified it.
I agree, though I don't think Joe would take THAT many shots from Toney, he moved his head
