Ha ha ..as recently as last weekend the vast majority thought Smith would beat Ryder. One man stood out....and he was right!

I know Katie struggled and it was her hardest fight. I know you were shocked and surprised by persoon. But if you kept a cool head and scored it properly Katie won that fair and square. Anyway she will put all doubt to rest in the rematch. The rematch. Gerrit? Now if only we could pressure team Plank into giving Ryder HIS rematch.....

    - You're still wrong. When 99% of everyone disagrees with you, you're wrong.

I'll believe the Persoon rematch when I see it. Seems they've a lot of plans for Katie and I'm guessing Persoon is bottom of the list. An immediate rematch was imperative due to the blatant corrupt scoring. What are they waiting for?

If the rematch happens and Katie wins, I'll be the first on here praising her. I really like Katie but I'm very unhappy about the scoring of that fight and how it's been brushed under the table thus far. It's bad for boxing and it's tarnishing her legacy.

Just watched this. What a complete muppet.

BJS fight was close till he stopped him. Yes Joe, but he stopped him. Callum lost comprehensively and you act like the question re a rematch is disrespectful.

Needs to get his house in order. All his fighters stagnate and take the path of least resistance (until they cash out) Fighters are meant to move through the levels, not just build a padded record.

Would like to see Canelo fold him in half but for me his only option is to rematch Ryder. Beat him fair and square and then move on

Remember just for some context when Liam Smith won against Liam Williams in very controversial circumstances he agreed to the rematch like a true fighting man and won handily. Both Joe and Liam did themselves and the sport proud by taking the rematch and winning cleanly and definitively.

You’d think Callum who seems like a very nice honest lad will take a leaf out of his brother’s book and do the same... The fact that Joe is refusing to entertain it here goes to show that they simply don’t fancy Ryder after he soundly outboxed Callum.

Plus want a payday as they know he’s done at the weight.

You’re also forgetting that being Ring Magazine champion acts as an invincibility cloak no matter how you perform (according to Joe G).

Watching the fight I was wondering why Gallagher wasn't telling Smith he needs to step it up and now we know why.

I think if you have to wheel out platitudes like "those who know boxing scored it for X" or "if you keep a cool head and score it properly" as opposed to detailing a breakdown, then you don't have the faith in your scoring that you're trying to present. I seem to recall you being like this with Irish fighters in the past, Len. If you truly believe she won the fight then so be it but please don't try to justify it by telling people to score with a cool head.

Not much point in detailing a breakdown because it was basically round after round of frenzied arm punches, windmilling away by Persoon. Incredible fitness and toughness no doubt but very limited and one dimensional. Very hard opponent to deal with. But Katie did enough. Most neutral fans scored it to Katie.

This is simply wrong and you're either lying or just unaware. Look at the replies to the scores being announced on Twitter. The only people scoring it to her had Irish flags in their usernames.

Carl Frampton scored it clearly to persoon and even said, as much as he liked Katie she lost clearly.

He didnt beat him mate. He lost on points. Very close fight and great effort from ryder but because he done better than most expected, doesn't mean he beat him.
