Joe Gans VS Terry McGovern: What can you tell me? Opinions?

well I don't know. I was trying to concentrate on the fight but kept staring at McGovern's thong up
his crack. Not as hot as James Corbett, but pretty close.

Gans was getting hit with some serious shots. Didn't look like a dive to me. But again, I was distracted.

 

Nat Fleisher was a huge McGovern fan and rated him the top bantam of all time, he wrote a book about him, yet of this fight he said, Terry was good but not that good. For me it all depends on what that first right hand did, I can't tell of course.

 

My first thought is that if it was a fake, they don't fake 'em like they used to. The same performance today wouldn't get a second look as being a fix with how lazy many of them have gotten.

Then again, I guess "Did McGovern land punches" and "Did Gans throw the fight" don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Bottom line is I've got no idea when it comes to this one. I file it under the "too hard" pile.
