A truer display of fistic science one could never hope to witness.

How do you see this playing out over 12 rounds?

Cobb decision or late knockout. Competitive but clear win for Cobb.

    Cobb by comfortable decision...

Hipp has the Heart and toughness to last The Full distance, but comes out on the short end.

Then after the fight the 2 get drunk together...

I actually think Hipp was a little more skillful and would've won.

    You, sir, are correct.

Hipp had a much better offense, more speed, and more craft.

Hipp was a better offensive fighter and would outland Cobb over 8 or 9 rounds, and hang on to win a decision.

Hipp is underrated. Good operator, skillful and possessed good stamina despite his outward appearance.

A little more skillful? I could buy that, but Hipp wasn't nearly as durable and suffered a few later round stoppages. In addition he swelled up quickly.

I'd pick Cobb via TKO in a die hard's fan's type of war.

I think I would too. Hipp could box a bit but he wasn't in a whole different category than Cobb who actually boxed on almost even terms with a young fast-handed Michael Dokes in 1981.. He could also crack a fair amount and could take the kitchen sink hitting him in the jaw.. I think Cobb might actually stop Hipp. Bert cooper certainly did a number on him.
