The poll question and the thread title are a little different, but anyway: - I think he will be a top contender, but he has the potential to get a belt IMHO.
to old to make a major impact in the division. i think British level seems about right. i'll eat my words if he wins a world strap though
Too early to decide for me... But I lean towards this as well. Some question marks regarding his chin and defense, but then again the same can be said about Wilder and Joshua who both currently hold world titles. I do think his chin and defense would let him down against someone like Joshua, Povetkin or Ortiz, maybe even Wilder... But he'll almost certainly get to that stage before and if he unravels.
Euro level - will almost def fight for a title but I don't expect him to win one. People forget the likes of Harrison, Francis and Williams fought for world straps so Joe should be able to.
Funny you say that. Joyce is a bit like if you took a prime Williams and Harrison, and then spliced them together. He's certainly tougher and more relentless than Harrison, but also a bit more technically refined than the crude but tough Williams.
I reckon he has the potential to pick up a strap. I think he's the kind of fighter who might beat some guys you'd not expect him to, and loses to some you'd expect him to he beat.
I was stood behind him in the queue in subway a couple of years back, he's one intimidating looking mofo...
Joyce could be fighting for a title quite soon, apparently the plan is to go for Lenroy Thomas / the Commonwealth title in Joyce's second fight. At that rate in his 4th or 5th fight he could be fighting for a world title. I really like this ambitious matchmaking strategy, not only is it good for the fans, but with Joyce's age and amateur/WSB experience there's no point in smashing 10 no-hopers before a meaningful fight.
Price and Audley have glass jaws. I've never seen a fighter more terrified of getting hit than Audley and Price isn't far behind. Joyce's chin is questionable but I don't think it's as bad as either of theirs. Time will tell. And he's certainly not as terrified as they are of getting hit on his.
Yes but he seems like a really nice guy. Like a gentle giant, outside of the ropes that is. This content is protected
Too early to judge really... see how he starts. I think he could pick up a belt maybe but also depends what the division looks like and who the belt holders are in the next couple of years...
