David Haye mentioned in a recent interview that Joyce takes a while to get going during fights and comes on stronger as the rounds progress. He made mention of one of Joyce's amateur losses where Joyce was called to fight an hour earlier than anticipated and his performance suffered as a result. Also said that he does a very intensive warm up to help deal with this. Interesting stuff I guess could it more of a slow start responsible for those losses rather than a weak chin and could this come back to haunt him in the pro ranks
Will save comment until he fights Ian Lewison. Without a potential 10-rounder under his hat against a wiley capable (but not elite) fighter under his hat it is barely more meaningless than talking about how I would go doing a thing.
Joyce has improved his defence. He dropped Joshua in sparring and gave a hard time to Fury in sparring and with his huge experience in amateurs, he looks bound for a belt.
I know he is an easy target, but Audley was a European Champion, who fought for a World title. If Joyce gets that far he has done well.
I never really saw much in him but he looks very powerful and seems to have really good stamina too. Since he's not the youngest I think they'll fast track him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him going for a belt before too long, it's an all or nothing approach.
He'll go as far as Usyk allows him to after he wins the cruiser tourney and makes his move to HW This content is protected
He waited until 31 to turn professional so he will need to fight 4-5 times per year and be moved on very quickly to achieve anything. Amateurs should not wait so long to turn pro ever. All indications are that he is above British level and possibly European, but is not world title level. Getting a European title is not impossible but will require some luck and hard work to reach for him.
Okolie is complete trash, he gets ktfo if he steps up to British title level. Did you see his last 2 fights? He is a KO waiting to happen and it won't take much to do it either. Joe is above Okolie, way above him.
