Okay maybe now we can see this Ortiz vs Joyce fight. If he really wants the fight he is now in position to have it and I don’t think Ortiz would turn it down considering he just fought Cojanui

Very good fight. Possible for the Wilder / Fury undercard if that happens. Joyce will probably get another fight before as his debut in the US, a softer one and maybe Ortiz will have another one too but it would be definitely a very, very good matchup and clash of styles. Ortiz should like the matchup as Joyce isn't a guy who is moving around but coming forward and Joyce will have his first real test as Ortiz is experienced and has the power.

Can Haymon afford to risk Joyce looking good against Ortiz though? What does it do for Wilder if a relative novice blows over his only really big win?

I really want to say the Fury Wilder fight but don't get my hopes up regarding Wilder fighting anyone considering one way or another the biggest fights he has been apparently on the verge of having in the past have never materialised.

No the tweet says Haymon will work with his current team.

Maybe He could target Washington next? Would be a good stepping stone for Joyce.

It doesn't make sense to me to go to the USA with the heavyweight scene in Britain. Chisora, Whyte, Bellew, Dubois, Joshua, Fury would all be big domestic clashes. What does he have in the USA, Ortiz and Breazeale?

Pretty hard for him when none of those guys would actually fight him (and fair enough too).

Wilder, Ortiz, Miller, Kownacki, Breazeale, Ruiz Jr, Jennings, Bryan, Hunter, Franklin, Kauffman, Lippe. I do not think the US scene has less depth than the british scene.

Going to the US doesn't rule out a fight vs AJ, Whyte or Fury imo in the future.

Bellew will retire anyway after losing to Usyk.

I think one major aspect is that Sanchez is working in the US and has a good base there so he will use it. Makes sense to sign with Haymon there as Joyce trains there.

UK HW scene has a good top but less depth.

Haymon can get him quickly up the rankings he’s got the money the fighters and connections Haye had none of that.
