Joyce would get stopped if he fights Ortiz imo, like you said he is basically a plodder and I don’t think he has big power to bang with Ortiz.

The big fights which I haven’t materialised aren’t always his fault. Povetkin failed the drug test, so blame the WBC and Povetkin for that misunderstanding. Fury got banned when they were building that fight the first time, AJ and Wilder is both their faults neither man is willing to give up any ground. He managed to get the Ortiz fight eventually and I think this Fury fight will happen because it’s a big name who is inactive and not in peak shape yet.

I haven't blamed him for all of them not happening but the fact is they never happened so I don't get my hopes up until I see him in the ring.

Was pretty clear Joyce needed to do something differently he doesn't have the time to waste and Haye simply didn't have the connections or deep enough pockets to get him the fights he needs to progress. In terms of promotion Haye has done an adequate job thus far but without being able to jump up to the next level he can't progress so signing with Haymon will hopefully see Joyce matched up with some of the other Haymon heavies.

A fight with Ortiz would be great and would make sense. It's a dangerous fight but Ortiz is old and if they wait long enough for him to become vulnerable, if he isn't already, then they can get a good scalp on Joyce's resume and jump up the rankings which would make sense for Haymon and Joyce.

Ortiz's career options are limited he's too old to be seen as a worthwhile investment for Haymon, Joyce on the other hand could be Haymon's access to the lucrative UK market if he can make Joyce into a genuine contender.

All the better then that he's signed with Haymon. No heavyweight managed by him would engage in such an ultimately self defeating strategy.

Well done Joe, you made the right decision joining Haymon's crew. Just need a gang initiation, and your a bomb squad member for life.
Obviously you won't be able to leave now, once your in. But you get paid a hansom sum, for carrying the bronze bomber's bag, around the boxing gym, and being the new limo driver for uncle Al's cronies. If I need a taxi ride, I will call the bomb squad for you to pick me up. lol.

They just signed him because he is the perfect sparring partner for Wilder to prepare for the Joshua fight, Joyce is
like a slower poor mans version of Joshua, masterplan by Wilder and Al Haymon.
