Lots of talk about JJ vs Usyk... Most people are favouring Usyk... But I'm not so sure. Joyce seemed "comfortable" against Doubois, where I thought Usyk looked vulnerable against Chisora... Personally H2H I think JJ rides his jab to a victory against all heavyweights bar AJ, Fury and possibly Ruiz. Obvs Wilder has a punchers chance too. Maybe I'm putting to much value twords his win vs DD... But danm he caved that man's face in with his jab.
I guess he's average in an average HW division. Personally I got him in the top 5 HW. There's not many HW that are really WC.
He's about right until he grabs the public's attention. He needs a fight that will put him in the title mix with Fury ,Joshua, Wilder. I think he'd beat Ruiz in a great fight, he wouldn't have to look for him
He's pretty good in terms of natural advantages, he has a great engine seems to have good punch resistance and size in the ring. I don't think anybody could call him a masterful boxer but with what he has he would be a handful for many fighters. He really needs to step up his fighting activity or level of competition now as the engine he relies on so much will degrade over the next couple of years.
You don't think DD was at same or higher level than Chisora? You might be right... But like I said average HW division. What's your top 5 HW
Although Jennings is crap, he's at least as good as Chisora. Dubois is well above Chisora, whose best win is the ghost of Kevin Johnson and has lost 10 times. Time will show that and he hasn't got much to do to surpass Chisora.
How is Dubois well above Chisora? He has no experience fighting anyone of any quality and has no defence. He was defeated by a decent jab. Jennings the same, he's not beaten anyone of any note. At least Chisora has many top level fights under his belt, so has way more experience, and has at least a win against Takam and Price, and he gave Dillian Whyte two good fights. Besides joshua, fury, wilder, top 3 - You have Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, Usyk, Ortiz, Hunter. So who do you think he's better than in that list? He's fought no body near there quality. Dubois is his best win, and he's a young kid who's far from his prime.
Chisora is many levels above Dubois? Put the crack pipe down! Just joking, but I disagree massively on that. What makes you think that? I was never on the Dubois hype train, but i think he's a good prospect. Dubois is 23 years old. Chisora's best wins are Johnson and Takam and neither Johnson or Takam has done anything. Dubois beat an even worse version of Johnson when he was 21 years old. Dubois would literally need one win better than Takam to have a better record than Chisora, and I doubt that he'd need to have another 9 losses to achieve that. The jury's out on Dubois, but really....Chisora? Chisora is 14 years older than Dubois, of course he's going to have faced higher quality opposition.... and lost against nearly all of them. Chisora didn't have a single professional bout at 23!
Agree to disagree but I'm surprised you can say Dubois is a level above Chisora. He has potential as a fighter and hopefully he can bounce back from the Joyce defeat but Chisora has some solid wins. Although I must admit if you look at his victory against Price the short notice and incredibly lenient refereeing really worked to his advantage. I don't think Dubois would land a punch on someone like Usyk.
Joyce started boxing late but was still one of the best British amateur heavyweights of all time and was robbed of the gold against Yoka (who also got a gift against Hrgovic in the semi). Joyce beat the likes of Yoka, Jalolov, Faust, Hrgovic, Majidov and Dychko. It was insane how he was the underdog vs Dubois. I give him a real chance against Usyk but he's being given little chance by the bookies. Still very underrated.
Fair post and you aren't wrong about robberies for Gold. Look at Joshua's favourable result for his Olympic gold. Joyce has improved as a Pro from when Usyk took him to school and I would expect it to be more competitive in the Pro's than it was in the Amateurs. Could be wrong though?
I'm only really interested in wins. Usyk cruised to victory against Chisora, it was never in doubt. Just because Chisora won a few rounds makes no odds, Usyk knew he was going to win from the opening bell. What solid wins does Chisora have?
