Go look at the resumes. Ian Lewison is like a weaker Butter Bean if we are talking real here...short, heavy footed and slow......nothing tells me anything about that guy who is severely limited. Amateur fighting IS completely different that's not even debatable.
The difference between pro and am will be negligible in Joyce's case. He doesn't have a style adapted to capitalise on the points system. He's a come forward powerhouse who will take most fighters out of their game if they aren't skilled enough to play matador or strong and fast enough to meet fire with fire. He didn't shine in his debut but showed an engine over 8, an upgrade from wsb's 5. He can be deathly slow and his style could lead to predictability but when he throws that ramrod jab it's a thing of beauty. His left hook on the other hand, is a liability. It's difficult to say where he lines up with other brit heavies. Of the 2 mentioned above he'd likely wreck Gorman. He can be explosive but I doubt it's enough to catch Joyce cold. Dubois, I'm not sure about. We've seen Joyce laid bare as an am but Dubois's still an intangible. He might be the best heavyweight in the world or he might just be another explosive musclehead who can dish it out early before blowing out of his arse. Stylistically, if he holds a shot well he could be a nightmare for Joyce. Conversely, Joyce could provide answers to all of the questions Dubois has yet to answer. Don't think those two will be allowed to meet for quite a while, Joyce isn't a fighter you'd want to use to gauge your weaknesses.
It is completely different BC the skill sets required and the rule changes make it a game changer. Ex: Mike Tyson vs Tillman in the amateurs vs. Mike Tyson vs Tillman in the pros. Do you know why the outcome was far different?
Still only scheduled to fight in Feb and May, no opponents lined up and nothing at all for March...need to get him in the ring to build interest...want to be excited about him but difficult when promoters and managers talk the talk but aren't delivering the opponents... As for JJ vs Dubois/Gorman.... JJ is far more experienced than both, he's a decorated amateur and WSB is a better standard than fighting bums in the pro's...He was fighting guys like Usyk (who would probably beat AJ tbh)...in 1 pro fight he has a better win than either...
