Joyce is just beaten by Zhang and you want to compare him to Foreman???

Foreman is perhaps the biggest puncher in boxing history. He would have annihilated Joyce. No question. No contest.

Yea Joyce KO's any version of Gorman.

Oh wait, we are talking about Foreman, then 45 year old Big George busts up and beats 35 year old prime fast slow slug Joyce, facts. Just too easy to hit.

I would make Joyce a slight but significant favorite over a 50 year old Foreman. Give Joyce some credit.

I was trying to be funny. I completely agree with you. The Briggs version of Foreman would likely win a decision. The Holyfield version would TKO him and prime Foreman would obliterate him in less than two rounds.

Several posts in this thread aged like expired milk in the desert.

This is what happens when you hype up a prospect with less than 20 fights.

Yeah the hype he got after the Parker fight was over the top, he went from underrated to over hyped after one fight.

I've been a believer and a fan of Joyce since the Jennings fight but I never thought he'd beat the top guys in the division like Fury and Usyk and would even be the underdog vs Joshua and Wilder, to even mention him with Foreman was crazy.

Joyce is a second tier fighter. As is Zhang for that matter.

I have seen simple fools in here argue that both would beat Foreman. Fact is neither of them deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as the great man.

Like I said in the Joyce vs Tyson thread (which was even funnier than this one), modern fans have this weird obsession with latching onto a popular prospect and hyping them up to the level of Greek gods without earning it. If anyone tells them to take it down a notch and maybe see how their career pans out, they're called haters and delusional old fans clinging to the past (even if they say it politely).

These insufferable fans make it difficult to root for some boxers. I was actually a big fan of Golovkin, but you had absurd threads where people were claiming he'd "easily" beat Hagler, Monzon, Toney, etc back when his resume was still as thin as paper primarily because he was more "modern" and had that aura of invincibility that comes with an undefeated record.

I wanted to like Joyce but now I can't help but laugh at all these people who were making horrible takes that aged horribly claiming he'd destroy Joshua, Wilder, etc let alone proven greats such as Lewis, Wladmir, etc. It's so absurd I can't help but laugh. Now they're doing the very common damage control tactic of hyping up whatever boxer beat the man they thought was Hercules (hyping up Zheng instead lol). It never ends!
