The Grant fight is up there with Golota’s best performances until the implosion. He also had come off probably his best win again Witherspoon. Joyce would make Golota quit.
I never understood why a fighter being DQ'd meant that he lost as though he'd lost properly (on the cards or stoppage). For example, Fred Hennebury was DQ'd at least a dozen times and all it did was give his in ring reputation an enhancement. It never detracted from the fact that he;d beaten Ron Richards and was still a 'winning' fighter. Times change....maybe for the better, maybe not.
You might be right...I'm sure any Golota opponent would be well aware that if they pushed him, he might break.
