Joyce by points, his jab can dictate the fight and neutralize a lot of Ruiz' hand speed. Also Ruiz is coming off of knee surgery and didn't really set the world on fire after getting off the deck to outpoint ancient Chris Arreola.
I don't know about that, Joyce wasn't beating Takam before he KO'd him. Joyce is the slowest boxer I've ever seen. I think if Ruiz wants this and trains, he should land more and outbox Joyce. Joyce has no defence what so ever. I think it all depends on Ruiz and how he approaches it. If he gets up to his old tricks at pie eating contests then he loses, if he trains and fights hard, then he can win.
Ruiz can not be counted on to perform well consistently. If he shows up at his best then he's capable of beating Joyce, but a lethargic Ruiz is grinded down and outpointed over 12 beyond almost any shadow of a doubt.
Tough fight to predict. Joyce is a good fighter, but looks like a mummy out there. I think if Ruiz comes in shape and ready for War he can win with his speed, quick combinations and toughness.......But i wouldnt be surprised if Joyce ended up winning on sheer determination. Make it happen.
This is a great fight. Two of the better heavyweights in the division taking on a decent challenge against each other. What's not to like? The winner would rightly be in position for a shot at the crown. I see the relentless pressure and volume from Joyce grinding out a points win on the cards. It's difficult to make a prediction on Ruiz Jr., it might have just been a combination of switching trainer and the rapid weight loss taking it's toll which resulted in the competitive nature of the fight against Arreola. I don't know if Ruiz Jr. has the gas tank to keep up, and I would be extremely surprised if he is the man to stop Joyce.
