I think Joyce is one of those who isn't necessarily technically good in an obvious way, but has the style to potentially give every single heavyweight out there a tough, tough night, let alone those 3.
I’m not having him against any of them to be honest. Look at previous opponents and then look at the work rate and aggression Joyce would bring in there. Dubois would be a bit lost IMO. In regards to Gorman I just think he’s got too much variation for Dubois, deceptively quick hands and packs a punch, be a great fight if it happens within the next 12 months. In regards to Bakole he carries power that We’ve never seen Dubois up against so we don’t know what would happen. I wouldn’t back Dubois to beat any of them but at the same time I wouldn’t be too confident backing against him in those 3 fights.
I agree. Its quiet ironic Joyce and Dubios are the two that get the most fanfare, but in reality i feel Martin and Nathan will be the two from the four mentioned who will have the best careers.
People have gone a bit cold on Dubois,but let’s get it right because of his age,size and as he has the backing to provide invaluable gym experience (GB squad with AJ and Joyce as an am and now as a pro the Furys,Povetkin,Okolie to name a few) it’s realistic to say he has world class potential.
It’s for his best interests that it’s gone a bit cold on him. It’s not that he’s not talented and doesn’t have potential, he’s just still very young and got plenty of time to reach the top. You don’t want hype like Yarde.
Your totally right m8, plus i think Dubios helps himself, as he comes across as a humble lad, same cant be said about Yarde
Joyce beats Dubois and Gorman Dubois beats Gorman (just) That’s my call on it. I think Joyce is really elite level- but needs to make the big steps now to fulfill his potential before he gets too old.
At this stage I'd pick Joyce over Dubois. He's more experienced, fought at a much higher level and has all the tools to make a long night for Dubois. Dubois whilst currently may be fighting at the same level (British) needs more seasoning and experience first imo. Give it a couple of years and that all might change. Gorman is a difficult one to call because I watched him live and I wasn't impressed at all but he still managed to the stop the guy (Soltby) in a decent fashion. He has looked improved since then as well and is in a similar situation whereby he is young and still needs seasoning. I wouldn't say there is a lot between them at this point and would be a good fight to make other than one would have to eat a loss that could effect their earning short term at least. Illunga is even harder to call cause I've barely seen much of him tbh so I have no idea what stage he is at right now but he's fairly highly thought of and he has a really big step up next. If he gets through that in fine manner then I'd have to say I'd favour him as of right now but we'll see how he does there first.
Exactly my view. At 20 years of age I wouldn't be putting him anywhere near those with the amateur experience someone like Joyce has. Very different looming career paths and immediate priorities. As with the poster above, I can't comment on Ilunga but will be keeping an eye out for him.
