Joyce is better than Bruno was in every way except power, Bruno`s longer jab would help him, but Joyce`s superior combos and body work would finish off and he`d gas yet again.
By Joyce’s age, Bruno had been to war with the best in the world for years and years. It’s an insult to him to say that this Joey-come-lately, the guy fighting Christian Hammer, would beat him. Bruno beats the hell out of him.
Joyce edges this with a late stoppage. Bruno didn’t have the best stamina or punch resistance. As weaknesses this doesn’t hold up well to Joyce who has both in abundance. Bruno was always out on his feet in the few fights of his that made it into the championship rounds. You can’t be in that state against an ambitious fighter who is relatively fresh and looking to take you out.
Bruno would actually be the quicker of the two and has the better jab. I could definitely see Bruno out pointing Joyce but there's always the danger Bruno fades late, especially against a fighter with the work rate of Joyce and then gets stopped. I want to say Bruno holds on for the win but I suspect Joyce would get to him eventually.
The ridiculous levels of Joyce hype continue... ♂️ Talk of stamina and workrate is fine, but against what? It's easy to look fresh at the end of fights when you're fighting trash and getting them out of there in the mid rounds. It's easy to put in a good work rate against guys you know won't be taking you into the later rounds. Joyce looks great against journeymen and the hollowed out shells of bang average gatekeepers... What does he look like against proper world class fighters? Ummm, no idea, he hasn't fought a single one as a pro. This is what is meant by "there's levels to this" - you simply cannot meaningfully contrast what a guy who's cruising through dross can do with what a guy who's fighting the best can do. There's no reason whatsoever to favour Joyce in this. And to caveat for the hard of thinking - sure, upsets happen, that's what we call it when the logical and expected outcome doesn't happen... But that doesn't make it reasonable to back the guy who's stepping up way beyond the level of anyone he's ever fought before.
Joyce would have most of the advantages, particularly in the chin, stamina and mental toughness departments. Bruno's best win was fringe contender McCall in a fight where Bruno was hanging on in the last three rounds, aside from that he was stopped by his 5 other best opponents. Joyce would grind Bruno down and stop him mid-late.
