Same here: 8th or 9th round TKO stoppage win for Joyce. The guy has an incredible engine, and even if Lewison applies himself fully in training for this, I don't see him living with the pace Joyce will undoubtedly set.

If this debut is a sign of things to come, it's also very probable that Joe Joyce could be fighting for the British Heavyweight title in his second or third professional bout.

How about Pete Redemacher's debut against Floyd Patterson? ;)

    So...

Pete Rademacher taking on Patterson for the world title in his debut.

    Oleg Maskaev vs. Alexander Miroshnichenko

Is there anything else as far that can top Lewison as a debut opponent?

Floyd Patterson who was World Heavyweight champion at the time.

Rademacher then went on to fight the extremely capable Zora Folley in his second professional fight.

Talk about going in deep right from the off...

That's eerily similar to how Maskaevs career started off...

Patterson, Folley, Brian London, Chuvalo, Doug Jones, Archie Moore, Mildenberg...

That's A LOT of quality opponents for an half a decade pro career.

How about Solis' debut against Andreas Sidon?

Yeah that's a solid debut... But Lewison is still better.

They said they were gonna start him with someone like Lewison and they have, they also said they want Wilder in his 5/6th fight so lets see if they push for that. i dont particularly rate Joyce but as many have mentioned he has a very good workrate that could cause problems

In his pro debut Lionel Butler fought Phil Jackson and in his second fight he fought Riddick Bowe. Jackson was only 2-0 himself at the time and Bowe was making his pro debut when he fought Butler. But Jackson was a very solid fighter with a heavy dig on him and he fought a lot of good guys.

    Nice left hook

I guess this qualifies... Since Butler was able to pick up the pieces and land a title eliminator with Lewis after a long unbeaten streak. Obviously not any bum or journeyman can apply, has to be someone with a good pedigree either amateur or later pro accomplishments.

Yeah. Jackson lost a lot but like I said he fought a lot of quality guys: Lewis, Wlad, Ruddock, Byrd etc being the best of them.
