Interesting match. I think someone kinda has to go with a 'prime' Joyce here, but its an interesting match. I tend to think Jameel probably gets a bit underrated. At his best he didnt suck as bad as many claim. But hard seeing him beat a peak Joyce, though its an interesting styles clash.
Really? He battered Shannon Briggs for 10 rounds giving him one-sided beating. He also demolished Michael Grant in 1 round. Beat Whitaker, stopped unbeaten Boswell, gave Chris Byrd very tough fight. He was solid fighter
McCline was pretty good and scored some decent wins but I think Joyce would be a bad match up for him due to fact that Joyce had great stamina and McCline had really bad one. I think McCline would win first half of the fight but Joyce would take it over in the second one
I'm not convinced Joyce wins more than a couple of those fights. Briggs for all of his faults hits extremely hard and Joyce has zero defense, Byrd would make him look silly and Boswell, Whittaker and Grant are far from sure wins either.
Mccline actually had some good wins and performances in between his losses. He was beatable but other than Wlad, no one was able to impose their physicality on Mccline and that's really all Joyce has. Also even though he didn't use it often as he should Mccline had power, he was the first person that dented Sam Peters chin and damn near stopped him, at a time when Peter's chin was being lauded. Joyce would be fighting someone that is actually bigger than him and comes into the ring larger but still in amazing shape (Mccline was a brick during his prime run) and a bit quicker than him. Joyce was steadier over 12 but it might not make it 12..........A quicker guy who can hurt him, that may be a disaster for Joyce.
