Joe Joyce vs Kash Ali - March 16th

If you can suggest a viable and realistic route to a mandatory that excludes boxing in Saudi or matching those already on the Saudi bandwagon, please outline it.

In my view, Joyce is best off getting a knockover win, impressing the Saudis, then getting on a Saudi card in the summer, ideally against Hrgovic, Kabayel, Sanchez or Dubois. All good matchups imho.

 

Sounds like he is on the slow train to Lootsville Riyadh.

The rematch with Dubois or Joey 12 is probably his route to loot as a World Title shot has faded away with the Beijing sunset.

 

I think Zhang is going to get done by someone and the second that happens anything left of the enigma that was Joe Joyce disappears like Marty McFly was on that photograph in Back To The Future and, unlike Marty, nothing that Joyce is capable of will be able to change that, he's done at World level.

 

You think Joyce should be aiming for a world title shot instead of going for money, but there's no title shots available so he should go for the biggest and best matchup he can.

That's pretty much what I said at the outset, however to get in contention for a title shot again, he has to impress enough against a weak opponent to earn his route to a big match.

Kash Ali is not a big match, of course it isn't.

But Joyce can hopefully prove that he isn't a shot fighter - he lost very badly both times vs Zhang - and earn himself a way back. I hope that is the case anyway.

 

Which if he does will probably get him a title shot at an alphabet belt as Parker is now back in contention.

 

Yeah I see no problem with what he's doing. Take care of this Ali guy then he should be looking at the big cash out fight next to secure his future. Assuming both Usyk and Joshua win their next fights you'd have to imagine Joshua vs Joyce would be an easy fight to make next. That's a fight that keeps all camps happy. A few million in the bank for Joyce with even a slight chance of winning and getting another monster pay day and on the other hand Joshua gets an easy opponent which is also easy to sell to the public. Win win for both.

 

I always have a problem with shyte fights and complete mismatches.

in boxing you always get second, third, fourth chances…especially if promoters think you can be knocked out easily
