Possibly the best press conference I’ve ever seen.

 

Pointless fight. Joyce would’ve beaten this guy on his pro debut. In all honesty, he probably wouldn’t even use him for sparring. Joyce doesn’t strike me as someone who needs a confidence building knock over and should’ve been coming back against someone in the 8-15 range of one of the alphabet boys rankings.

 

If anyone deserved a World Title fight, it is Joe Joyce and I have been rooting for him since fight 1.

Battered badly twice against Zhang and now he is fighting an opponent with zero danger, zero threat and zero purpose.

Yes fight somebody at a level below Zhang but this opponent is ridiculous with his very limited time runnning out well into 38 years of age.

That is my biggest gripe with this fight as any rebuild for a man with any ambition left to win a World Title needs to be very quick at his age.

The choice of extremely soft opponent is an indication to me that Zhang has finished him mentally.

Hope I am proved wrong 12 months down the line and we see Joyce coming back and winning against a Joey 12 or better.

 

Price was a joke against Ali, it was a freakshow

 

Awful fight this.

Even as a 'confidence builder' for Joyce it's still a disgrace. For what it's worth..... IMO Joyce is finished now (at any respectable level). That 2nd Zhang fight reminded me of David Price vs Thompson (2). The amount of nervous energy he spent prior to the fight, he was done before he even entered the ring. He won't recover from that.

 

Maybe the fight to determine whether Joe should carry on boxing??
Though maybe a better one would be against then boxer who beat Ali AND Nathan Gorman.

 

Always wanted a rematch between Ali and Price. The first fight was comedy gold.

 

Suspect any rematch will be lacking bite.

Joking apart, the press conference was the best in boxing history; none of your table throwing and fake beef, it was proper childish sweary stuff. Especially when Price wouldn't normally say boo to a goose.
