As in the Foreman thread—Joyce is powerful, but there are ways to beat him. He is incredibly imposing and intimidating to the world level competition, but not quite to the Hall of Fame caliber fighters. The moment they become true specialists or high level operators, holes in his game are going to be ruthlessly exploited. People forget that there are levels to the game and limitations of one's own boxing skills and knowledge are often projected in an act of degradation of the true elite. Hence why puncher's and relentless brawlers are often overrated. That being said, Zhang fight didn't really show us how Joyce fares against the best of orthodox fighter. The Bing Bang: a) Is a low-volume, precise counterpuncher with experience and amateur pedigree. b) Has dynamite in his gloves. c) Is a southpaw, which takes away Joyce's main control and pressure tool—his brick like jab. Alone none of those would guarantee a victory, but together they string a lethal combination. Yet, Zhang was getting tired and he would be getting stopped eventually, if not on the canvas, then by Foster on his feet. I often told my father that titanium chin is an invaluable asset, but shutting eyes, torn eyelids and mauled eyebrows take you out of the ring nonetheless. Shame that I forgot my own advice when analyzing this fight.
Tyson had 50+ professional fights and had been a professional since he was a teenager big difference and you know it.
Foreman also had 10 years away from the sport, and he cameback mentally stronger. Joyce has had like 16 pro fights ? And turned professional late. Its no comparison to Tyson who had 50+ professional fights and had been a professional since he was a teen.
