Honestly Joe would be the biggest fighter Ali faced without question. But I really don’t believe Joe would be able to land consistently enough on a prime Ali.

Prime Ali was in constant motion and had unbelievable reflexes. His speed and mobility would be a bad style match up for Joe.

Prime Ali beats Joyce with mobility and speed. He doesn’t have to hurt him.

Post exile Ali could struggle. Joe Joyce is an enormous guy and Ali couldn’t move as well. Not sure, honestly. I just never saw Ali fight such a big dude.

This is all nostalgia dreamy stuff for the hype of older fighters.

Prime Pre exile Ali…the guy who has at times struggled against small 180lbers. LHW Cooper had Ali out on his feet. I’d be scared to see what a significantly bigger opponent (reach ,height and weight-250lbs )in Joyce would do to Ali.

Couple this with Joyces never ending gas tank, chin, constant jab, awkward timing and power. Ali would be lost and TKOd by 12.

Ali post exile wasn’t exactly perfect. Knocked down and beaten by essentially todays light heavy in Frazier. Ali wasn’t this forever moving dancing fighter. Usually round 3-5 onwards he’d be fairly stationary.

When he stepped up to Brit Level Ali was dropped heavily and very badly hurt by a 185lb Henry Cooper who he had 17lbs on. He was so badly hurt his trainer had to resort to shenanigans in the corner to buy time for his head to clear. Lucky for Ali that Cooper had paper skin and cut so easily

Brit Level Joe Bugner lasted the full distance against Ali twice, 12 and then 15 rounds in the rematch. To be fair, Ali did win both of their meetings but the scorecards for the first one were pretty close (54-57, 52-57, 53-56) and Bugner and he were roughly the same size

Sure he beat domestic level Brits in Richard Dunn and Brian London but they'd both incurred 22 losses between them prior to fighting him and Ali had 16lbs on Dunn and 9lbs on London

This tells me that when Ali stepped up to elite Brit Level he generally tended to struggle and he only fought 2 opponents who weighed above 225lbs in his entire career

Joe Bugner in the rematch 230lbs
    Buster Mathis 256lbs

The vast majority of Ali's opponents were LHWs and CWs by today's standard and half of them weighed under 200lbs

Big Joe weighs 270lbs of prime British beef and if a 185lb Cooper can drop Ali like a sack of potatoes with a solitary left hook and a 219lb and 230lb Bugner can last the full 12 then 15 round distance against him Big Joe can do way better

If a 185lbs Cooper can do this to the much heavier Ali with a single left hook

And Big Joe can do this to the granite-jawed 255lbs Parker with a single left hook

    You do the math

FTR, three of the top five ranked HWs in the world, excluding Ring/unified WBA, IBF & WBO champ Usyk who is an honorary Brit, will be British after The Ring update their rankings and the other two non-Brits have both been trounced up at Brit Level, one of whom x 3.

Usyk is undefeated at Brit Level even though he's fought up there more times than most Brits and he fought all those Brit Level Brits in Britain

    AJ x 2
    Big Joe Joyce

74 Ali loses, he didn't have the speed at that point. His chin held up vs CWs but Joyce is a mega heavyweight

Knew this thread would show up, put it along side the" Anthony Joshua beats Ali thread"
Joyce ain't hitting Ali with that slow motion crap, and his face will look like it's been in a hornets nest
after about 10 rounds. Imagine, a 37 year old slow handed fighter with poor defense,
and limited professional experience beating Muhammed Ali
It ain't happening in this universe, I mean how's he win? outbox Ali over 15 rounds ha,ha,ha,?
or does he score a KO? more laughable HA,HA,HA,HA,

Ali would broke his fist when punching Joyce. But 15 rounds ? I don't know how any of the current HW would be past 12 rounds. 99% would gas

Maybe Joyce and Usyk would be still ok in the 15th round.

Slow Joe Joyce whoop Muhammad Ali?
Slow moving shuffeling Joe Joyce beat Ali?

Even in 74, his handspeed would be too much of a problem for Joyce.
He would beat him to the punch every time and be out of there.

I think Joyce is very good come on, styles make fights, Ali easy ud

When evaluating Ali from Zaire you have to remember it was 3am, hot, muggy, he's been eating weird Zaire food (what was the state of refridgeration in Zaire 50 years ago?), drinking whatever it was that came out of the tap in Kinshasa while struggling with the early stages of an illness very sensitive to all those things.

I wouldn't be surprised if Joe Joyce's gas tank looks different if he fought in a sauna.
