It wasn't a close fight. Wallin won 2 rounds against Fury. Ez fight for Joyce. Honestly - rewatch his last fights against Sokolowski or Booker - not a masterpiece. This Sokolowski fight was really close to me, LEL!
Joyce batters Wallin. Wallin has no power, stamina issues and it's not like he's a great mover. A recipe for disaster against Joyce.
It's not the step up that Joyce needs - Wallin is dining out on having cut Fury, but he was thoroughly outclassed nonetheless. Joyce is running out of time to prove himself one way or the other, he needs to be fighting proven contenders and Wallin just isn't.
Indeed... Nor is Joyce, but that's one of the question marks with him and Wallin does nothing to answer it. If Joyce isn't going to step in with the big boys he at least needs a fight that'd prove something and this isn't it IMHO
Easy work for Joyce - KO win inside 5 rounds. Joyce has already beaten better guys in Takam, Jennings an Dubois.
Wallin is undeservedly high-ranked, apart from two good rounds against Fury he did not achieve anything significant in his career, Joyce destroys him...
Eh Wallin peaked against Fury Got the high risk status and his career is now in tatters. He needed the Whyte fight to come through but Whyte smartly ducked. Clearly a fighter who needs to be on form, his stay busy fights were more than horrendous.
1. Wallin is not good, he caught lightning in a bottle and still couldn't capitalize. 2. Joyce is very likely the # 3 HW at the moment Joyce would run him over
If Fury couldn't stop Wallin I'm not sure the plodding Joyce does. Both overrated fighters but Joyce is better, he wins this on points imo.
The complete picture and story of Otto Wallin would have been different if the fight with Tyson Fury had been stopped due to a cut. If such a cut had occurred in the Otto Wallin vs Dominic Breazeale fight, the fight would have been stopped 101%. We still don't know how good a boxer Otto Wallin really is, and we won't until he fights: Rydell Booker, Kamil SokoĊowski, Dominic Breazeale, Travis Kauffman... We'll know how good he is when he fights someone like Joe Joyce.
Seriously? Seriously? On what are you basing that wild claim?! I like Joyce but for Christ's sake the man hasn't beaten a single contender... His best wins are three washed up journeymen and a prospect - #3?! The hype is getting WAY out of control around here.
