Considering that Joyce was getting clocked with overhand tights from a shot Bermaine Stiverne, I think we have to assume Wilder would take him out.

Has reality checked in yet ?

Anybody still want to bet me on the Ortiz vs Joyce fight now ? The guy who doesn't know much about boxing still ? :hambre:

Last nights fight is everything I was alluding to . Joyce will get Ortiz after mid rounds after 6 its end game. how many posters actually think Ortiz will walk over joyce now ? Reality is not a strong suit for most ,the fact is the older Ortiz doesn't have the power or Stamina to stop Joyce his skills may be better but he would get walked down and stopped eventually.

Odd style Joe has for a heavyweight. Plods forward throwing weak looking shots but he's non stop moving forward and throwing. A freak of nature it must be said; 265 pounds lean!

All signs tell me he'll be exposed at world level yet there's something about him that makes me believe he can give anyone a tough nights work.

Physically he's a beast. I remember how he just walked through Lenroy Thomas like he wasn't there. Ortiz would be an interesting clash of styles … and ages

At just under 6’7” and a very fit athletic 265lbs he’s a tough proposition for anyone
Factor in his punch rate which must consistently be in the 60 to 70 per round range
Consider his accuracy which is superb
Throw in his heavy handed power which is hurtful and delivered with every punch he lands
Add his ability to throw combinations
He seems to be impervious to the big punches that he gets caught with & walks through them

He looks slow yet cuts off the ring well, his hand speed is leaden but he still lands his shots & he doesn’t seem to have thunderbolt power but every punch is concussive.

Watching him you can’t help but conclude that he won’t trouble the very best but he keeps on winning, keeps on stopping his opponents and hasn’t yet been deterred by anyone’s power.

Maybe he’ll look the same no matter who’s in front of him, just as effective, just as relentless
We’ll have to wait & see

If Stiverne was even 60% of the fighter he was in his prime he would have knocked Joe out.

Stiverne in his prime would have los tot Joyce still. Stivernes career highlight is beating Arreola FFS.

Not saying he was a superstar but was better than Joyce is now.

Stiverne was a sharper fighter and a good counterpuncher but could be outworked in prime. Arreola had plenty of similarity to Joyce in his prime. Stiverne broke his nose in the first fight and took him out for the first time in his career in the second fight.

Joyce might be able to outwork or wear down a 2011 Stiverne, but he’d have to walk through hell and it would be far from a sure thing.

Yea sure he could ,his resume is even worse then Ortiz's . :babeando:

The only reason why he lasted 6 was because the bell saved him in 3.

We wouldn't have even been talking about this fight if the Breazeale final eliminator came off because you would have seen the same result just later in the fight. And Breazeale isn't on Joyce's level , but Stiverne would have went down before the 12th .
