Totally agrees. Joyce would roll up most punchers to the ropes. Dubois and Joyce had a power balance at The beginning of their match until Dubois got tired. Joyce did respect his power.

    Klitschko would have destroyed Joyce.

Klitschko wrecks Joyce as many times as you care to match them up. Joe Joyce is a plodder with a decent jab and otherwise glacially slow wide punches. Yeah, he's got a good chin and he's big, so what? Wach had a better chin, was bigger and faster and he still got the hiding of his life.

Technically Wlad's jab is way better and faster than Joyce's and that's JJ's first problem. He's going to get lumped up all night. The only option he has is to try and brawl Klitschko and we all know Wlad isn't going to play that game. Wlad's got the lighter footwork by far and he'll make space to nullify Joyce's looping punches and feed him his thunderous right straight if he gets pressured too much, which is doubtful. Could Joyce make the distance? Yeah, maybe. He seems to have a solid set of whiskers and Wlad was never one to KO a guy if he could outpoint him. Mind you, if Steward is in Wlad's corner shouting at him then maybe Joyce wakes up in the infirmary.

This matchup is much like taking that kid with the KO's at middleweight and proclaiming him better than Golovkin when he's fought nobody at all.

    Lest we forget:

Big fan of Joyce, like the way he isn't flashy and arrogant the way he goes about his work. Slowly chipping away and rarely getting put on the back foot. His lack of head movement is a problem for him tho, eats an unnatural amount of shots. Good thing he is granite wlad would be a hard one for him Klitschko would just sit behind his jab at distance. The only way Joyce has much joy is getting wlad into a brawl and he was a bit cleaver for that. Think Joyce's chin would stand up but Klitschko on points for me.

Joyce is about 40 years old and the only fights he’s had of note are Takam and Dubois. I can’t believe this is even a discussion.

Joyce would get chinned quite bad.

The chin hasnt been tested at highest levels yet...

He'll need to be a mando to fight Fury or Joshua as I doubt either would cherry pick him. More of an unknown quantity than Whyte, Ortiz, Parker, Ruiz, Hunter.

Prime Klitschko beats any active heavyweight right now.

To be fair Kuzmin is underrated and was robbed vs Bakole.

No, it was more the product of some of the real headscratchers in here.

BTW, check out the 2 surveys if you have some free time.

I rate Joyce higher than most, but he gets wrecked by a prime Wlad. He might make it to the final bell, but he'd take a tremendous pummelling from Wlad's one two. Pre-Steward Wlad might be a different story.

I think Joyce will struggle without his massive height and size advantage. He uses his reach and strength to overwhelm smaller guys.

Which to be fair puts him in a good position because there's only a handful of decent heavyweights bigger than him.

Nothing Joyce has done or shown suggests he could hang with prime Wlad or even past prime Wlad.

Sure he has a good chin but taking Takam, Dubois's and Stiverne's best punches is nothing like a right hand or left hook from Wlad. Even granite cracks if you hit it hard enough.

And yes Joyce's work rate might very well overwhelm Wlad but thing is Wlad has learned to control the pace with movement and his clinching. Hard to throw 60 plus punches per round when you're out of position or being clinched every 10 seconds.
