Joe Joyce vs Zhang Zhilei - Prediction, poll and discussion thread

Zhilei Zhang won't win a decision on a Frank Warren event in London.

And he may become the victim of a quick stoppage by a dodgy Warren referee.

The deck is stacked against him, but I'll be rooting for him anyway.

 

A proper contest unlike Joshua vs Franklin

 

I thought Dubois had him hurt once or twice.

 

It was a strange fight as the corner work for Dubois was very poor. I had it pretty close at the time of the stoppage.

 

The fact that Joe Joyce has never been knocked down in a professional fight and was knocked out by Kuzmin in an amateur fight reminds me of the case of David Tua never being knocked out in a professional fight and was knocked out by Felix Savon in an amateur fight. I don't think Joe Joyce will be knocked out for the rest of his career.
And I see Joe Joyce vs Zhang Zhelei more as a victory for Joe Joyce on points than by knockout. As Zhang gets older, the chances of Joe Joyce winning by knockout increase.

 

Zhang can hit like a Mac truck and Joyce is there to be hit at times, so Zhang is gonna be real dangerous for about 3 rounds. After that Zhang will slow because that's what Zhang does and Joyce's body attack (which was a real strong point vs Parker) will wear him down even more and stop him.

But first few rounds should be good.

 

Zhang will gas after a few rounds after catching Joyce with some good shots in the opening rounds and get stopped between 6-8. It’s a good fight but won’t be that competitive. I would love to see Zhang pull of an upset victory though.

 

Joyce by brutal KO

 

Zhang cannot, I repeat cannot match or keep up the pace of a Joyce fight. It will be decent, competitive, entertaining fight for 4, 5 rounds max before before Joyce just takes over and wins by tko/ko in round 7or8

 

Not on a Warren card they don't.

Dubois is very raw, but his power doesnt fall into the "feather fist to mid puncher" range.

 

Joyce will KO Zhang and show that Vitali-looking wannabe how it should be done.

 

Joyce walked right through Dubois punches. Zhang is a banger, but he won’t hurt JJ.

 

Wow… For someone as highly regarded as Joyce - its pretty sad to see his X factor against a B leveler is his “chin.” according to many in this thread..


Quit over rating this dude…if his chin is his best asset - he’s not a top tier fighter…..

 

I agree Joyce's chin is getting very overrated, for having not fought any of the known punchers of the division. I'm not saying hes not durable, but I want to see how he reacts to getting hit by the likes of Zhang, Joshua, Wilder, etc. Then we'll see how knockout proof he really is.
