Joe Joyce wasn't mentioned as replacement for Jarrell Miller?

Ams and Olympic performances seem to mean strangely little in the pros.

I don’t know how guys like Kownacki end up being better than medaled Olympic athletes, but it happens nonetheless.

 

If you somersault properly when an opponent throws a jab you can avoid it and when your coming back down land what ever punch you want....You follow boxing and you don't know that ?? Ive done it 4 times and its worked 4 times

 

Joyce seems a nice fella agreed, but there's plenty of fighters that spark him cold with his style. I don't think ive ever seen a fighter throw a right hand and bring his back leg forward with it, like walking/punching. He is atrocious style wise, but I hope he does well, hes not the usual wanker

 

Honestly you gotta look at the situation . Joyce is a British fighter who joined the party late with not even 10 fights under him yet . I understand his age and wanting to move fast as time is not on his side . However this is an American hosted debut event for New Yorkers and by extension US viewers to have a personal viewing of AJ . A lot of noise has been brewing in the States for AJ and now they want to see one of their own against him . This is not about UK on UK fighters this is about AJ demonstrating his Unified Heavyweight status on a hallowed ground in the US .

Joyce is a fellow Brit who is moving quickly because he has too , but he has no right to call AJ for this fight this fight's position belongs to a US born or based boxer .

Joe Joyce is 33 years old with 8 fights only . I think Hughie Fury , Parker , Takam and Chisora have better rights to claiming it even if no American fighter turns up .

 

I like Joyce but wasn't particularly impressed with his last fight against Mr Blobby (aka Stiverne). Took quite a while to get Buffet out of there and took quite a few clean punches in the process of of doing so. Booth's priorities with Joyce will hopefully be (a) get him some sort of defence (b) improve his technique so he's sitting down on his punches more, rather than throwing 100 arm punches.

 

I think he looked good at times or dangerous Stiverne, clipping Joyce hard, he felt them, it was just 1 hard shot not very often to make much of a dent
