Just watched him for Lionhearts.A good allrounder.Seems to have it all.First time Ive seen him.Any comments on his future?
Big, athletic & fit with reasonable handspeed & fair-looking straight shots. Blocks & parries fairly well with his arms. Joe is an ex-rugby player & swimmer, he's a late starter & clearly a manufactured fighter. Looks unbalanced & awkward at times, some strange footwork & sloppy arm-punches when he throws hooks & uppercuts, especially his left hook. Dont think he's very good tbh & wont improve a great deal.
He was maybe the least impressive Lionheart on display, IMO. OK, no less impressive than Arro. Not half the potential of Selby, Nevin, or Ward though.
Thanks for info lads, just didnt know much about him.Agree about the others especially,Selby ,who imo really talented.Got a young Frank Bruno in mind for some reason.
He's not great but decent, looks about 6,5-6,6 apparently he spars with Anthony Joshua, i imagine as a pro he would most likely be domestic level maybe on par with the likes of Richard Towers.
Walked past him other month, He's a unit. Anyways got speaking to girl i went school with who lives down bottom of road and her mum and they said you know Joe Joyce. We babysitted him as a kid, lovely lad. I watched him box and like a lot am's i'm not overly impressed by his ability seemed to just be relying on his physical attributes but he's done well for someone without a great deal of boxing ability. He turned to boxing to keep fit i think so it's a success story in itself.
You can do as you please, but it's a bit overly harsh a judgment considering he's an amateur newly introduced to a semi-pro system and was in with an utterly negative *******. Maybe try taking context into account and seeing more of him before saying he boxes as though he just learned last week?
I like them vids he does. You know the ones were he's on a camp site saying things like '' i couldn't bum me woman for 4 weeks becuz a you yer sweat from a donkeys ballbag''.
Think you've got your wires crossed IB. Price represented GB at the 2008 olympics (in that division). John Joe Joyce represented Ireland in the olympics in 2008.
