pretty sure they aren't with dave anymore, Joyce's last fight before Thomas on the last hayemaker ringstar show was on channel 4 or 5 if im not mistaken.
Seen Hughie and Peter Fury said they won't fight Joyce as Hughie has been a pro 6 years and us looking to climb rankings after next fight not fight novices, thought they rate Joyce.
I would have liked to have seen the fight, but I do see their point. But watch the masses claim he has ducked him lol.
I think Hughie is a terrible matchup for Joyce. That defensive movement will make him miss all night in a dull fight. Guys like Whyte, Miller and Chisora will make for great matchups though. Slugfests where Joe's stamina gives him a chance. If he beats any of them he's looking at world title fights. But he needs to defend his commonwealth title a few times now against durable guys who'll give him the rounds to learn the pro game.
Well chisora ducked him and i heard an interview with Peter fury the other day saying that if Hughie wins the british title this week they have no interest in Joyce next. Apparently they have no interest in the commonwealth belt and Hughie is too seasoned to be taking on a 4 fight novice. So it seems he is being swerved already I cant see anyone wanting to fight him unless the money is top dollar which it won't be so he's going to find it difficult to fight anyone of note any time soon I reckon.
Think that's the issue fast track no one wants to lose to someone seen as a "novice" so will want be very well paid
Joyce is such a bad ass, I have been a big critic of his speed and technical skills but can’t fault his desire, heart and athleticism. I’m backing him all the way.
He looks absolutely terrible. But one thing he is is effective. Got a feeling hes gonna be harder to beat than he looks. Big puncher should give him nitemares tho...looks open to a big shot. But in his defence he doesnt give people time to breath in there. If he can take a dig...he could turn into a nightmare opponent for someone. Think hes gonna be in the is better than he looks club.
Does anyone know if Joyce has ever been knocked out or knocked down as an amateur? Can't say I followed him much before be turned pro. He is always wide open so he must have some faith in his chin.
Fully agree. I can't help but be very impressed with his work rate. Joyce is pretty relentless but in a methodical way. I don't think he will ever be the best heavyweight of the current bunch but more than happy to see him in the mix. Just hope he doesn't get caught out/chinned before he reaches those guys, which would not be a major surprise.
Unfortunately for Joyce he needs Sky or BT backing him. I don’t think Hayemaker/Ringstar have enough funds to get him the fights he needs on this fast track. They couldn’t finance the Chisora fight, Lenroy Thomas can’t have been paid much.
