Like who ? apart from Usyk fighters like Fury have been down 8 times in his career i don't see anyone in this era with a standout defense apart from Usyk as i said.

Joyce just lost to a shot 40 year Chisora that has nothing to do with this era being strong my guy it's just Joyce simply isn't that good he's a plodder with very slow hands and no defense. I'll give Joyce credit for having good workrate for a big man and an above average chin, but in regards to his overall skillset he simply isn't that good end of.

I think the post Zhang Joyce isn't the same fighter. The Parker version of Joyce beats Chisora.

But then you could also say what about if Chisora was younger and fresher aswell ? the man is 40 years old and has had by far a harder career than Joyce.

So if you're using an excuse for Joyce not being the same fighter, then Chisora should get an even bigger excuse since he's further removed from his prime than Joyce is.

Fury getting dropped often has more to do with his punch resistance compared to Bowe though. Fury doesn't get hit anywhere near as much.

AJ has much better defense than Bowe. Zhang too, he has a very good guard and catches most of the shots on his gloves (He doesn't fight at anywhere near the pace Bowe did though so you can't exactly compare it, but still).

Bowe's head was a magnet for right hands, I watched the Bowe vs Coetzer fight again the other day. He was super easy to hit but he could just take it most of the time. Fantastic offense, very poor defense.

More than just Usyk for sure, probably Joshua and a prime Fury. A great defense is not required to be better than Bowe defensively.

    Still a fan of Joyce.

I d like to see him lighter in the ring, maybe 15-20 lbs off. The extra weight only did him bad

A change of trainers would be nice as well. Mcguigan always speaks highly of him and can be a great option

He's ok only in this era. In any good era everyone good demolishes him.

Otto Wallin would be a good return fight. The same for Ajagba and Hrgovic. A way to get right back in the mix, but tough matchups.

Can he get Dillian White in the ring?

Pulev? After he wins the Wba interim?

    Wilder is a long shot.

Better to stay away from Wardley.

I think he got old overnight regarding the Zhang losses, the Chisora loss kinda proved that.

He was easily a top 4-5 heavyweight after the Parker fight.
