Joe Joyce's controversial defeat against France's Tony Yoka in gold medal fight to be overturned

What a ridiculous article, surely its a mick take? The first half of the article calls the Joyce / Yoka fight one of the most scandalous results in Olympic boxing history, that Joyce had clearly won etc etc.... Then they go to the article they wrote at the time where they essentially said it was close but the Frenchman deserved the decision!!!!!!

When I watched it live, I felt Joyce had done enough to win 2 rounds to 1 but it was a close enough fight.

 

Could make the pro fight more likely to happen

Not much more trustworthy than the Daily Mail but the BBC reporting it now too.

Surely Joyce and Conlan can sue the IOC for a fair few quid now.

We all knew the fix was in because both the Conlan and Joyce results were an absolute farce.

If it were to get correctly overturned (which I doubt at this stage), it'd still be a shame for the two of them to have to win the gold in this manner without the glory they should've received at the time.

While they're at it do they fancy correcting the Roy Jones, Evander Holyfield and Mayweather Olympic results which were also an absolute **** take.

Amateur boxing is riddled with corruption and bias it's pathetic.

 

If this was any other sport this would be all over the news bulletins. Alas it’s rather “priced in” with boxing.

I’d love to see someone refuse Joe Joyce his demand of a gold medal- the lad is an absolute unit.

 

Hrgovic got robbed in the semis against Yoka too. & there was a fight in the early rounds were Mihai Nistor clearly got robbed so Yoka didn't have to face him in the next round.

 

Another embarrassment for boxing. It's hilarious how this isn't seen as a that big of a deal.

Yes Joshua lost 3 times and won Gold lol. Ogogo was bought a bronze, he clearly got beat by Khytrov . Gvozdyk was robbed in the semis,
