Dempsey was the most crowd-pleasing, bravest fighter in the heavyweight divisions history. He will get in there to fight, and be put to sleep by Joe's right cross.

I'm was thinking this could go either way but your point on fundamentals is sound . I think this would be an incredible fight with Louis getting a 5th round stoppage

I've always thought if Dempsey could get in early, rush him with that speed and hurt him early, then make sure Joe never recovers.
It's a risk, Joe could be slow in the opening round s to get going, but still deadly dangerous of course.
If Galento and Braddock can drop him and Tami can rock him, I definitely think Jack Dempsey has an excellent chance.
It's hard to pick against Louis I know, but maybe Jack had the perfect style, speed and power to nail him before he has a chance to get set in motion?

The first Godoy fight could be a great indicator how Dempsey could make it work, definitely.

Louis was too disciplined and too correct for Dempsey, who could be sloppy and untracked. A great fight of give and take but Joe doing more of the giving and less of the taking. The balance of offense swings Joe's way after the 4th and matters end in the 7th.
