    I don't think you're an idiot. I think you are just being stubborn because you have already been arguing for this long and you don't want to concede to the clearly logical and undeniable point that he's making.

    Why shouldn't he get preferential achievement? He achieved more for society and his country than 99.9% of people in the USA ever did in their lives.

    Rules are there to serve life, not the other way round.

    Louis was in the wrong but his punishment was disproportionate to what he did, and people lacking any empathy or judgement rigidly enforced dehumanizing rules instead of seeking to apply natural justice fitting the "crime".
