Joe Louis and Deontay Wilder. Many people say they are alike, list some similarities

    I see many people on this forum comparing the two and they really are alike. Skills/temperament/attitude/power

    Wilder chose Joe Louis, also an Alabama native. Louis, the world heavyweight champion from 1937-49, died in 1981 at age 66.

    "I definitely would fight Joe Louis," Wilder said. "Joe Louis is an Alabama boy just as well as I. To be honest, I got my actors name from him. Joe Louis was the Brown Bomber. I am the Bronze Bomber due to the Olympics. I got the bronze from the Olympics and the bomber from Joe Louis.

    "If I could fight anybody (of all-time), it would be Joe Louis."

    :lol: I love Joe Louis and I'm a big fan of Wilder. But they have nothing in common. They don't even look alike. They sure as hell don't fight alike.

    By age 30 Joe Louis had fought- Billy Conn, Max Schmeling, Jack Sharkey, John Henry Lewis, Max and Buddy Baer, Tommy Farr, Bob Pastor, James J Braddock, few other top rated contenders.

    Comparing the two is frankly insulting to Louis.

    Joe was the greatest champion of all time, across all weight divisions. Wilder couldn't dream of putting together anything like the reign of terror Louis did.
