To play devils advocate, how many of the men that I have named would you make Tommy Burns favorite over?

Would you expect Leon Spinks to see the all off, if they had been in the ring in the place of old Ali?

I considered making that a thread.

Buddy Baer Vs a squatters row of the least regarded lineal heavyweight champions we have decent film of
Tommy Burns, Jess Willard, James J Braddock, Leon Spinks, Michael Moorer and Shannon Briggs

From the reports I've seen, Lewis probably deserved the decision when he fought Braddock

You know- I am sure most here do, that Jimmy Bivins was given a token crown by Louis and was called the "Duration champion" till he returned. This was the boxing equivalent of calling your son the man of the house while you were at work.

    Such was his dominance.

McCoy & Conn were L-HWs cum HWs and Top Rated fighters
Red Burman was consider a good and worthy Contender

the others were noted Tough Nuts, I think Musto was perceived the best of them 3.

"Bum of the Month Club" was more Reporter parlee than fact!
